I don't like having money so I got the Captain pack. The figurehead it comes with is indeed a well shaped ram-tip. It is large, heavy, and pointy. May have a lot of health though. When I make it to Goondor, I will happily load up any of the schematics for fellow goons.

Is it just me or do the Islands become shittier the higher tier you get? Some of these tier 3 islands on US west are total poo poo. Why yes sure I would love to run around stupidly huge island that take forever to load in and spend an hour plus to find where the cocksucking creator hid the chests and data banks in the most obscure non logical places. Oh goody I found the chest half buried in junk in one of 50 holes in only 30 minutes. More manta steak recipes. Atlas core upgrades should not be chest only schematics

Elaborate islands are very much a tier 3 thing. They get more normal in tier 4. But yeah I hated trying to look for chests in tier 3...

I posted a picture of nearly all chest locations in a t3 zone earlier in this thread which makes farming chests much easier. But seriously, farming chests sucks.

So I logged in yesterday to find things literally falling off my ship. As I watched this in horror, being roped to my ship, I was surprised to find myself yanked off. I told myself it was fine as I am roped on. Got to the end of the rope and the rope stopped doing what ropes are destined to do. Down to the abyss I found myself tumbling. Random respawn? Sure! I have yet to have this work out by putting me on a new island that I haven't yet visited. So I sulked around and started gathering again. Saw a ship pulling in and I swung over and asked if they wanted a core upgrade. I manufactured it and the new friend offered me a ride to a nearby isle with tons of resources. Halfway to said Island mantas attack. I rope on and make myself small. Sadly, mantas have been attacking me personally and I get chomped to death. Respawn again and find myself on the resource island that looked like a ship graveyard. I started disassembling ships for their resources when I came across a hulk with two core upgrades in decent condition. Salvaged everything around them and they popped off. Created a cheap shipyard and assembler, made a new core and popped the upgrades on. Jammed out the bare minimum and floated (hopefully) to max height for the night. If my ship doesnt do the self destruct bullshit again, I should be able to get a storm-proof build set up to get to T3. 1400 weight allowance with the upgrades.

I am quite enjoying flying from island to island to acquire pieces of t3 ships that are strewn about. That and the pieces I don't use turn into somewhat decent resources when rendered down. Wish I could find a compass/horizon. Up to 1800 weight allowance just from the upgrades to my core I found and a couple T3 engines just laying in a pile.

It will probably gently caress up my muscle memory when I am doing actual AutoCAD work, but I farted around in the island creator last night. Actually began to enjoy it more than the game itself.

Just found some dudes all quality 10 tungsten/aluminium/steel autism boat unattended and escorted it back to my shipyard to strip it down for parts. I left him the frame with his reviver and a tin atlas core floating around for him to hopefully revive on when he logs back in. Game is good. Wouldn't mind a content patch though.
