The Classic Dinette Set was just making conversation. Working Daze makes a dated reference even by its standards. Super-Fun-Pak-Comix is just trying to start a conversation.

This specific comic doesn't actually say she's from France, it instead makes vague reference to her "home country". In Korean, this is a dedicated word that doesn't sound awkward, so I'm cheating by referring to the country by name so it sounds normal in English. I'm pretty sure it was only ever specifically mentioned in that one memo where Park Seong-hoon explains that he's not being racist. Although there was also the whole thing with the baguettes. I don't know if any country aside from France considers baguettes to be traditional food. Evil Mastermind posted:Super-Fun-Pak-Comix is just trying to start a conversation. I've been wondering, does Bolling make new ones specially for GoComics or are they all just sliced up versions of the originals?

Strontium posted:Intelligent Life Come to think of it this has to be the "joke" for at least every other strip for the past several months. I'm starting to wonder if the issue with this arc has been less than pacing or more the sheer repetition. Ignoring, for the moment, that the underlying content is the main obvious cause for the awfulness.

Yeah, A&J this week has been rough, but I admire Jimmy for putting these out. The conventional wisdom is that comics are done pretty well ahead of time, yeah? - but these strips landing at the same time as that "we're all doomed" article in New York Magazine, well, dang. I went back and looked at some of the earlier comics and in a few of the flashbacks to when she was in her home country, poo poo's written in French. So, it's either France or unlikely Quebec, I guess. France definitely makes the most sense. I have no idea why I thought she was from Minnesota. Moomin on the Riviera Page 11 Mouth-having CONFIRMED

I, Lucifer was published back in 1967, so I wonder if he looked back at this bit and decided to expand it into a full story for the comic. Rhymes with Orange Pros and Cons
