i was leaving somerville at about 5:50am a few years ago and was driving down mass ave with about a car length between me and the guy in front. we were the only 3 cars on the road, but the guy behind me drove into the parking lane and jumped the curb at a corner to get into that spot. i then watched several people treat a red light as a stop sign. even when there was traffic coming these people would just keep inching out into the intersection until the cross traffic started honking and had to swerve slightly to miss them.

don't even get me started on the suicidal cyclists who don't seem to think that the rules apply to them

they don't think that geometry applies to them. I've been in a bike lane wide enough for exactly one bike, surrounded by cars on both sides, and had other cyclists try to pass me.

the second day you drive in boston is great because you can do anything at any time

the first day i drove in boston i saw somebody do a u turn on a four lane road from the right hand lane at a red light with a police car in the left hand lane into oncoming traffic

the cop didnt care

Milwaukee has pretty good drivers for the most part. It's when you have a bunch of SUVs and mini-vans from the suburbs trying to get downtown and clogging up the road and double-parking that you have problems.

Chicago has a lot of aggressive drivers but it's half good and half bad. The good half are aggressive because they need to navigate traffic to get where they're going and they don't gently caress around. The bad half are aggressive because they need to fit in someone's 1-car-length safety gap slightly ahead of where they are and arrive at their destination in the same amount of time anyway.

IMO cyclists should be forced to pass their driving test before being legally allowed to ride on the road, since none of them seem to understand what a stop sign is

In London it's a thing where cyclists wear gopros and chase down drivers for the tiniest of reasons before yelling obscenities at them to get a reaction, all so they can post the video on YouTube and pretend they were abused and almost killed that day by an inconsiderate motorist. gently caress cyclists.

practice practice practice, interview at lovely jobs you dont want, low pressure, go whiteboard and fail, or whiteboard and get better

it's pretty good except for the expectation that you spend like ~6 hours on each project

depending on where it is in the interview process its fine, so if it's far enough along you know you want the job okay -- but if you're shotgun applying it would get old pretty fuckin fast

they don't know all alien abduction experiences can be explained by people thinking saving private ryan was a documentary

The cyclists around here do this terribly annoying thing where they feel like they can cut the double line on windy two lane roads, why they think this is a good idea on blind turns is beyond me, gotta shave .2 seconds off the downhill I guess? Like five or six a year get merked doing this and clipping an oncoming car so you'd think they'd learn but nope.
