Seeing how much they tried to link Bernie Sanders the candidate with "BernieBros" it's definitely intentional.

Also for going into lots of and lots of detail on what is particularly bad about the latest Republican healthcare proposal.

There's also some interesting wonk stuff about research papers like what giving women free IUDs does (good things, obviously).

What can I say, I'm a barely closeted lanyard.

For any left-leaning folks who also like dry, wonky analysis explaining why socialism is a good thing, try the Wide Left podcast. It's a couple of former college debate nerds who go in-depth on why leftist politics are both sensible and beneficial to everyone, they're definitely nowhere near as much fun as the dry boys, but are a nice middle ground to recommend to centrists who may be sympathetic to leftism while being put off by all those mean ol' Chapos.

Stuff like Traister's point about the "bend the knee" language being read as gendered is whatever but I'd be pretty pissed if a prominent liberal publication embedded, without much further remarks, a tweet from a lunatic that wasn't a political critique but an unfounded accusation of being a literal rapist.

That should come as no surprise. I believe this is what Matt was referring to when he said Clinton doesn't have supporters, only fans. Her boosters in the media and on Twitter are mostly professional pundits and columnists and lawyers, if they aren't grifters like Mook and Daou who were hoping to get a job from her administration.

All the centrists have is loving tone police arguments that everyone loving hates, it's the last bastion of a moribund political position that knows they will get utterly destroyed if they engage in an actual argument on policy. They don't have a platform, all they have is decorum policing and pearl clutching.

For some reason, today has been filled to the brim with people wanting to rehash the 2016 election for the millionth time. I saw an article on The Root about Bernie Sander's Problem With Black Women, the poll stuff showing Clinton being less popular than Trump in TYOOL 2017, Garland's stupid tweet storm about how the real menace is the alt left, and a handful of other articles... and all I can think of is the Adam Curtis line about not being able to imagine a better future. We're two farts away from the 2018 machine going full blast, and the democrats are busy trying to massage and workshop their "message" because they don't have a loving platform while the sycophants are still posting slay queen and covfefe memes.

it is kinda funny how they will have articles saying wildly different things on their increasingly fractured web of sites and sub-sites. i just go there for kotaku, but sometimes i'll see some crazy different stories popping up that makes me wonder what the editorial team is up to

I wonder if it's such a bad thing to have writers with different points of view. Sure, you're not getting a unified publication-wide opinion, but that seems like a good thing, too.

Yeah if Chapo's *snorts, picks at shirt* dialectic has A Problem, it's this: Twitter is tailor-made for this sort of glib mischaracterization and outright lie. It's a lot easier for the Mensches, Reids, etc. to mindlessly repeat BERNIE DID 9/11 and CHAPO RAPED ME than it is to debunk this poo poo.
