No. There's that bomb upgrade at the laboratory but that's it. And weapons are supposed to be ephemeral so upgrading them would make folks get too attached.

People are already too attached to several weapons because they are needed for collecting, never mind that one absurdly strong sword that appears each Blood Moon.

You can upgrade stasis though, and while it's not super useful it's also really, really cool.

I hope you can manage to get the Master Sword before you hit the next couple big dungeons. Given how the last two main quest touchpoints were all "hey where's the Master Sword" and all.

Yeah, I think we're gonna vaguely focus on getting shrines taken care of so we can get the Hearts necessary to lift the Master Sword. It's been bugging us enough (and the DLC is coming out... like, now) that we wanna get it going already.

Also, hi! I said I'd try to keep the thread updated vaguely while I'm on vacation, and here we are. We're gonna open up with the fight against Fireblight Ganon:

Part 76: "Ganon, You're Delicious"

Hola from Playa del Carmen, where the WiFI is slightly less solid than the ice cubes after two minutes in the sun. I was hoping to post the rest of last week's videos before I hopped on my plane, but alas...

Interestingly enough, today's fare is a double-serving of the Eventide Island quest, "Stranded on Eventide":

Eventide is a fun adventure. There are a few more overworld challenges like that, but none quite as elaborate.

I like how you got to Wood Jesus and it kind of happened to be a perfect title for the episode. Stone Satan would be a good second.

This game doesn't mess around with lightning strikes, I'll say that much. I can't remember a game that's had them hit so consistently close.

Hokay. Back from vacations. Settling back in. Getting the schedule back under control. We had some hiccups due to having two fewer episodes than we wanted before I left, and then not getting a chance to record Part 87+ until last night, but now we're back on track! Should be the last "bulk post" if all goes well... first let's check out the episodes that we got recorded before I left...

...and here are the ones we've started since then. Our first mission? Get that loving Master Sword.

Eventide Island was so cool! I'm really hoping they have even just a few more challenges set up like that. I know there's a labyrinth up in the northeast, I'm guessing that'll be in the same ballpark.

Yeah, I STRICTLY stuck to the hotel Wi-Fi and had my phone off a bunch, no way was I gonna get assfucked by roaming charges on this trip.

If you liked Eventide, get the LDC. The labyrinths are fun in their own way but not the same beast. There's also a neat trial north of the korok forest (you need to go a different way to reach it because of the forest rebooting you, but that's the best descriptor)

The recently removed TMNT game had lightning as a gimmick and on the harder modes, Zeus is actively trying to murder you every few seconds.

That would be SUPER rad. They've had the means to do something like this since at least The Wind Waker, and with the enormous scope of this game I can't imagine building a random floor generator would be all that taxing...

So, now that we have that pitiful attempt at the Trial of the Sword out of the way, let's get this northeast section explored...

Other ways to do the blue fire:
--bring a torch! They don't burn up.
--Throwing a torch or burning weapon will leave the blue fire burning, so you could throw it over that fallen pillar.
--Light an arrow on the blue fire, then shoot it at the next torch.

Hmm, now that you mention it I'm not positive. I figure since you can light weapons with blue fire from a lamp it'd work the same, but we know that blue fire turns into normal fire when it burns stuff. I just assumed on that one.

I do know for sure that throwing a torch leaves it lit. That's what I used to get around faster.

Lighting an arrow on fire does work. I did it to light the lantern behind the fallen pillar when I was doing this.

If you hit the old, dead guardians with something heavy, like a magnesised metal box, you can tip them over and get a few extra screws and stuff. I must have missed the ones by your tiny island there, but I'd be interested to know if they could be flipped with a bit of sneaky cryonis, what with them being in the water and all. Probably not, but you never know.

They can be flipped over if you use cryonis on any water beneath them that is large enough to allow a block to be made.

I realize that explaining explaining the joke is a level of unfunny generally not attainable by mortal man, but:

- more than two people are named "Manning"

- there's a certain style of "political joke" that consists of a) insulting someone whose politics you disagree with and b) expecting to be hailed as a comedic genius

- it's probably some kind of corollary to Dunning-Kruger that nothing is so painfully unfunny as some would-be comedic genius trying to make a joke

Also what the gently caress is even up with Skull Lake? It's got fuckin' screaming skull pillars reaching for the heavens and all that weird flora. But it's just kind of chilling out being a creepy skull lake.
