Paul was one of the "not cruel enough" Republicans. Complete repeal is cruel enough for him. He is a libertarian and doesn't believe in any sort of health care for those who can't afford it.

That's not to say anyone should let up or stop calling or stop screaming at them, I just think that it's working and it will continue to work because they are worthless morons. They really only have till the 2018 midterms to even try, and not even really that long. They can't do it.

Or rather, it's what my then girlfriend (now wife) owned when my regular drip coffee maker died. This thing is a solid steel tank and I don't think I'd go back. Or maybe I'd go back to a drip machine, but I'd never go to a K-cup. they're bad for sure but they're intended for commercial or office environments where you don't want to task people with the maintenance and resupply of a better coffee making gadget like a french press. like the use case of a keurig is "tim from sales wants light roast, lisa from hr wants dark roast, i want tea, and nobody refilled the coffee pot"

Weren't pod coffee machines originally designed for corporate meeting/board rooms? For all the hate they get, they kinda make sense in that one context, considering the alternatives.

Republicans want their tax cuts (which is what this is ultimately all about) right loving now not in 10 years (because god willing a ton of them will be dead by then). So that would be a complete nonstarter.

I will confess that I didn't think GOP resistance to their proposed health insurance legislation would be because it was not horrible enough and did not gently caress over enough people.

This may not be the right thread to ask, but I keep getting e-mails like these. Anyone have any ideas? I am neither an Iowa resident nor an American citizen. Is someone just incorrectly entering their e-mail address and writing to this congressman or is there some sort of bot that's mass petitioning him? Goosed it. fucked around with this message at 20:07 on Jul 20, 2017 |

Slogans probably don't matter much in general, and something they're using 16 months before a midterm election doesn't matter at all. People screamed at them for not having a message, and now they're screaming at them for having the wrong one, but none of this poo poo matters.

The idea that helping people acquire better job skills is victim blaming or some poo poo is unbelievably obtuse. It's possible to give individuals an opportunity to help themselves while also working to remove the barriers that make that harder to do. problem is there is not a major shortage of skilled people. in fact, a ton of people are coming out of university with degrees and no opportunities at all. increasing access to higher education and better skills is good, but in this case it seems to be an excuse for not doing anything about the poor state work is in now. people are being paid less across the board to do more, and pushing people higher on the skills ladder is a bandaid on a serious problem.
