A second person said Trump’s lawyers have been discussing the president’s pardoning powers among themselves. I think you're confusing the last sentence with the impact of the first one. The source says he's pretending that this is definitely not something that would be imminent, he's totally just throwing hypotheticals out there, but he did ask about his power to pardon himself.

His attorneys are just trying to be well informed of the law!! Like good attorneys. And a president has the right to know all the powers he is afforded!! Nothing to see here

As defined by the constitution, it might actually be possible. Pardoning oneself would mean acting as judge and jury for your own actions though and most people would feel a moral/ethical conflict of some type with that.

The question though remains, in the eyes of the Supreme Court, is it legal or illegal to pardon yourself as president, and what follow-on effects might occur from such a pardon? Can you be impeached by the Senate for a crime which you pardoned yourself from, seeing as you have judged yourself not guilty? Also, Donnie Dumbfuck is not most people, the dude is rotten to the core, if there's an angle he can use to get out of something he will use it.

This dude sounds just the right fit for Trump:quote:What Robinson nails is the way that this is what Scaramucci does — it’s his job. Scaramucci is a fund-of-funds manager, posting returns even he admits are lackluster: he more or less tracks the S&P 500, while making big, risky bets (a third of his assets are in MBS), investing in leveraged hedge funds, and reserving the right not to redeem his clients’ money upon request. Which means that he only has two ways to make money: either find stupid people to give him their money, or else shower himself with so many conspicuous indicia of success that people just want to buy into his perceived success. http://blogs.reuters.com/felix-salmon/2011/09/09/anthony-scaramuccis-sleazy-sales-pitch/

So, like, how many times does Donnie have to just completely and utterly gently caress someone over in exchange for the absolute loyalty he demands before other people start to think that, ya know, maybe Donnie doesn't give a single, watery, luke warm poo poo about them? This is chimpanzee-levels of basic pattern recognition we've got going on and yet they're still furiously slobbing that knob. It's almost impressive.
