I'd say that they are equally inaccurate though? Anecdotal evidence is anecdotal and maybe I've just had an incredibly sheltered life surrounded by betas cucks or something, but the vast, vast majority of people I've known don't/have never ridden the pussy train/dick carousel. I can off the top of my head think of at least ten people who are in 10+ year relationships/married to people they met in high school or in their early twenties. The ones that have dated "extensively" have maybe had 4 or 5 relationships (most of my friends are in their late 20s/early 30s) each. The one friend who I know for certain has slept with "a lot of" women has slept with maybe 20 girls over maybe a 10-year period, not hundreds, and he has been with his current GF for 7 years and awaiting their first child.

Like I'm beginning to think that the "women/men don't appreciate me because they don't care about intelligence and they don't want romance. They just want hot NSA sex with that big-dicked guy Chad/big-boobed girl Stacey" are in reality outliers, and which are only found in great abundance in the minds of American TV writers. See also: demi-sexual or whatever the tumblr kids call themselves nowadays - "I only sleep with people with whom I feel an emotional connection", yeah, as oppose to us "sexuals" who apparently stick our dicks in any and all openings/jump on any thing longer than it's wide, preferably both at the same time, amirite?

I agree that the male and female versions of the sex-obsessed stereotype are both outliers, but there still aspects of our culture that encourage men to be that way and discourage women from it. stud vs. slut

I don't think it's a myth that young guys tend to pressure their girlfriends into sex. But I do think it's a myth that women don't have high sex drives - it's not that women don't want to have sex. They just have more stigma and different repercussions attached if they follow through, which makes sexual activity higher-risk compared to reward.

Also, I've seen info indicating that men prefer not to have a girlfriend more intelligent that they are. If this is correct, it means a woman of high intelligence could be at a disadvantage in finding a relationship. Here's an article about one such study... interpreting this stuff is not my forte, so maybe it's BS, or maybe it's not.

I think the main difference between the Male Incel culture and why we don't really see as much of a :females: Incel culture has to do with A. Age and B. How young men are taught to be men.

Most of the goobers we see posting are between what, 12-25ish? Sure there are the few older incels, but it seems to be mostly younger/teenage boys.

As someone else pointed out, that's when you're hormones are going crazy and no one really teaches teenagers how to deal with that poo poo. I look back on my teenage years and cringe because I could have easily fallen in with these idiots, although actually having friends helped keep me away from turning into a complete fuckwit.

Of course as a young man, all we're given to go on is what the media tells us and what our parents try to instill into us, but at that age we know everything and of course your parents don't get it because it's different now etc.

So you take raging hormones, and more than likely untreated depression, which can often manifest as anger in teenagers, and all the usual insecurity that comes from being a teenager, toss that poo poo into a blender of "The world isn't fair and balanced like you think it is" realization and a healthy dose of terrible media portrayals of men and women/how relationships work, and we get these loving idiots who can't get over their weird hang ups about their wrists and nasolabial folds.

I think the :females: Incel community tends to be more quiet with the self loathing, keeping it to Tumblr or whatever other blog site they use (back in my day it was LiveJournal and hooo-boy).

I'm almost 100% certain the whole "Lay down and Rot" thing is serious untreated depression. Of course we all keep saying "They really need therapy" but if you've sunk so far down in your depression, getting help seems futile.

Basically it's Hormones + Untreated Depression and an extremely negative feedback loop of other deeply depressed dorks all jerking each other off about how miserable they are and how it's not their fault, it's "Chad", the mythical Ubermensch.

Also I'm 6'6 and have thin wrists, and yet I've managed to not only have sex with :females: but also have relationships. I guess I'm a Chad? Or am I a betacuck because I've never bedded a Virgin?

Furthermore, the "man tasks" have largely been the things technology has replaced or made difficult, as opposed to the "woman tasks". (Historically speaking.)

You still need to raise your kid, garden, clean, whatever, largely manually. Entertaining, decorating, etc. Women still know how to do many of these things, and will take these roles. Some things have fallen off--cooking, baking, sewing, etc.--but also many of us know how to do these properly.

Fixing plumbing, cars, wiring, etc.? A lot of guys can't do this any more. Even if my dad did not work in a professional capacity, he'd still be value added because he does things like plumbing, carpentry, yard work, home maintenance, car maintenance, and suchlike. My parents have saved a lot of money by keeping things fixed and not having to buy new--their Sharp vacuum is 30 years old, their washer and dryer set they got when they were married (35 years ago). Having my father around will save you money and keep you from having to call a number of service providers.

What the hell does the average 25 year old man know how to do now? Is he going to fix my car? Can he change the loving oil?

Bad proposition. Just get another wife

The really funny part about all this is that back when I was in school we were looking at studies about division of labor in the household. A lot of researchers found that, basically, as men spent more time at home in relation to women, they reported doing more household labor (cooking, cleaning, etc.) in hours. It turns out that when corroborating this, the researchers noticed that instead men were actually doing less house work, in hours, than they did (in comparison to earlier studies) when they were working outside the house more.

Tbf, I think a lot of it goes back to the cultural stuff. Like men learning that their labor is more valuable than womens. Therefore they start to internalize that "women's tasks" are not worth doing in general. I'm a "shiftless musician" but am also a carpenter and come from a family of plumbers so I have some useful skills. It turns out though that the most useful skill is recognizing that household labor is worth doing regardless of gender and that forcing your partner to in effect work two jobs (one outside the house plus the labor in the home) is hosed up and kinda mean.

I tried to read it, but it's really boring (which isn't helped by the grey-on-white font) and nonsensical. I think it's a website that tells Christian incel women to pray for a husband, and cultivate your relationship to God first, and hope that the rest will come as well. The author uses the metaphor of Ruth and Boaz, two people who were brought together by God (ignoring that Ruth went outside and caught the eye of Boaz, eventually laying down next to him, but whatever).

The mission statement seems to be her statement "The Myth About Marriage":

quote:

The myth about marriage that there is someone, anyone other than God who can make you whole.
On the same page, the author talks about a woman she knows that tried to find someone on her own hand, and who went through all kinds of hardships and humiliations. But despite her trying to fill the void in her heart through a child or a husband, she wasn't truly fulfilled until she found God.

It seems to mostly be basic-rear end Evangelical theology, with some prosperity theology thrown in for good measure. You know, if you love God and cultivate a relationship with him and let him know all your wishes, he will bless you in every aspect of your life, including finding a man for you. Implicitly: If you don't have a man, clearly you need to love God more first.

I used to be a theology boy, [ASK] me about it.

Yeah, and it also sucks that a lot of the jobs that will still be necessary for some time to come - such as nursing - involve things that men have been socialized against. Like caring for helpless invalid people, which should be a universal human trait.

Society has conditioned some people to think that women or servants are the caregivers, therefore it's a devalued task. As a culture we need to shift away from this view of caregiving, and it will benefit everyone.

I have two women like this in my circle of friends and they both have multiple cats, so yes.

One is definitely held up because of religious reasons. She's the one who posted the Waiting for Boaz link and complains endlessly on Facebook about how hard it is to wait for God to bring you a man. She moved from my Godless Liberal City back to her hometown of Turkey Holler, Pennsyltucky in the hopes of finding a religious man but so far God has not delivered. The other is just super picky. However, unlike incels, both of these women have jobs and friends and bathe regularly and whatnot so they're far less entertaining.

Yeah sure, I'm certainly not going to deny that male and female sexualities are subject to different social norms. My point is though high promiscuity and the maximisation of dick/pussy count, chemistry and emotions be damned, (or hypergamy, to borrow the incel term) is relatively rare in the real world, for either sex. Not that you would ever know, if you get all your info solely from popular media. Now, with that said, male promiscuity is certainly tolerated to a much greater extent. And male promiscuity is certainly far more common in Western popular media, often as a kind of comical aberration.

As for the researches you linked to, psychology is not my field so I can't really judge the quality of the journals in which they are published, so they are what they are. But that's kinda the problem with science journalism in general: the public generally don't know that in any given field the journals vary a lot in quality and anything can get published if you go down far enough on the list, and one or two studies published in mediocre or even poo poo journals is often reported as new scientific "discoveries" if it's sensational enough. Meanwhile, scientific concepts backed by broad, decades-long consensus are presented as merely "theories".

But as someone who does qualitative research, I find it extremely funny that some quant sperg has operationalised something as ephemeral and abstract as human attraction as the distance between chairs.

Even if you're in college, you must always defer to them because they don't like smart girls."

I didn't get a very good grade for that part.

As far as a stereotypes go, there was a bit on a show where they set up dates for girls and guys. They used conventionally-attractive pictures to set up the dates, but when the person showed up, they were fat and no longer 'acceptable'. Interestingly, the guys bailed fast, usually after accusing the girl of tricking him, while the girls at least sat and talked to the guys.

Yeah, the power dynamic is a really key element for the incel crowd, and is why there's not really a female equivalent. These guys feel powerless and are just dying to have something in their life (a woman) that they can exercise authority over. For most that's a bigger deal than the sex I think, or at least it's what the sex represents.

I guess this is also a bit similar to those waiting for God to deliver them a husband. I kinda suspect, altho it's just a hunch, that this might be at least partly caused by women being less willing to marry downwards socially. I could be wrong but I also can see how it would be hard pill to swallow that you are going to be the breadwinner of the family.

I think the big reason we are not seeing 'female incels' is because incels declare themselves failures around age 15-20, whereas for women it probably doesn't hit in until 30-40. If that's true, then the amount of articles like this is probably going to start ramping up soon.

I could be wrong tho, like I said, it's basically just a gut feeling.
