I 100% expect a MoV rules change in the next really major FAQ.

Watch it be removing the large base restriction entirely and adding "8 or more combined hull and shield" to really gently caress over Y-wings, too, for some reason.

They should just get rid of it entirely. Its from an age where small ships had little options vs a boosting Rac or Dash. Now that small base ships have slam, multiple arcs, turrets and all kinds of goofy sloops and t-rolls and boat loads of HP theres really no need for it anymore.

MoV should get half points above 33 points of ship value. Conditional on loving fixing Jumps. But isn't everything?

I don't understand, how can ships not give any sort of Margin of Victory? How is the rule broken? Maybe I'm just not grasping what everyone is talking about.

You should get half points on anything with 9 or more combined hull and shields. gently caress jumps; brobots forever!

I agree everything should give up points, but I would say as low as 7 total health. This would help even out the field of all the small ships with large amounts of health. Though the next problem I see is it would still make Miranda great as she could keep regening back to full points.

Just add it to the list of things that make Miranda broken. Honestly seeing more Miranda every single tournament.

Miranda's pilot ability only applying to primary weapon attacks is a desperately needed errata independent of the broken half-MoV rules. e: along with advanced slam being action bar only

Take a game where you're flying against Corran and Miranda. You can load enough damage into them to kill them both 3 times over and gain no points. Miranda is harder to kill than any Jumpmaster except Dengar, and can cost over 50 points. You don't get points for half of her, but you do for half of a Lambda.

So it's time for my group's monthly weird format casual tournament. This month is no unique pilots/upgrades and only one of any card to be used. I'm trying to decide whether I should go with this: Glaive Squadron Pilot — TIE Defender 34 Expertise 4 Twin Ion Engine Mk. II 1 TIE/x7 -2 Ship Total: 37 Patrol Leader — VT-49 Decimator 40 Gunner 5 Tactician 2 Engine Upgrade 4 Ship Total: 51 Academy Pilot — TIE Fighter 12 Ship Total: 12 Or this Glaive Squadron Pilot — TIE Defender 34 Crack Shot 1 TIE/x7 -2 Ship Total: 33 Zeta Specialist — TIE/sf Fighter 23 Fire-Control System 2 Lightweight Frame 2 Special Ops Training 0 Ship Total: 27 Baron of the Empire — TIE Advanced Prototype 19 Push the Limit 3 Proton Rockets 3 Autothrusters 2 TIE/v1 1 Ship Total: 28 Academy Pilot — TIE Fighter 12 Thoughts?

I'd probably go with something like this: https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f...20Squadron&obs= Aggressor circles around, TLTing things. Defender charges in for blocks and subsequent K-turns. TIE Advanced is really dangerous close in, and evades most turns. Bomber is both a support ship with tracers and an alpha striker with cruise missiles.

Some Numbers posted:If you look at the post timestamps, ConfusedUs made that list in 20 minutes. 19. And I already have a 4-ship list that I'm practicing a bit. That was as close to the same as I could get without using unique cards. https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/?f...sn=Toolbox&obs=

Ran Raged's Nym/Scout/N'Dru list at another store champ today. Did much better this time; ended 3-2 and got my first range ruler. Still super fun to fly. Matchups went: Biggs, Rex, Lowhhrick & Jess - Loss Couldn't secure a kill with the alpha strike and lost the Scout to concentrated fire early. Lowhhrick was running Tactician and really shut down my Nym once he got behind me. Ended up only killing Biggs and Rex. Very well played by the other guy. Nym, Dace Bonearm & Thug - Win This guy was trying to make Dace Bonearm work by running ion turrets and bombs. N'Dru one-shot Dace on round 2 and cleaned up from there. First time getting off that 6 dice attack and drat it's effective. Quickdraw, Backdraft & Deathrain - Loss Quickdraw was VI'd up to PS11 and gunned hard for Nym from the outset. He got the kill pretty quick while avoiding Bomblets with Primed Thrusters. N'Dru took out Deathrain but I wasn't able to finish off either of the sf's. Quickdraw, Kestal & Double Edge - Win This Quickdraw was not VI'd and I was able to win the game in 3 rounds without taking a single damage. Used R4-E1 to drop Clusters after a 4K to simultaneously burn all of Quickdraw's shields while blocking him from returning fire. Opponent was not happy about that move. Nym & Dengar - Win This almost played out like a mirror match with each Jumpmaster starting in the right corner and executing the same maneuvers to meet in the middle. I rolled a better Plasma Torpedo and burned Dengar's shields which let Nym finish him off with a Bomblet and range 1 shot. The revenge shot brought my Scout under half but my opponent surrendered immediately after losing Dengar. N'Dru never even made it to the fight. The list definitely feels like it rewards practice since it's got so much going on. Gonna keep flying and tweaking it for the last store champ in my area in a few weeks.

Really think I could do well at regionals with I feel like Backdraft is a decent tech vs bomb lists, he can equip ion missiles to blunt Nym or mirandas approach to joust (or cruise for alpha) but more importantly he can run away and get consistent shots on.

Yeah, he can. but you are flying 3 ships all with some type of ordnance. He can't keep away from everyone and if he is really running then he is leaving his other stuff unprotected.

With Nym/Bombs/Miranda being pretty much in every list I played this weekend, I was thinking of bringing some Ion weapons to the fight to try and combat the bombs I am seeing. I had a couple of questions about ionization when it comes to Genius and Miranda: 1. If Nym has Genius equipped with bomblet generator (or any other bomb that makes you reveal a maneuver), if Nym is ionized, I know they cannot drop said bomb because they didn’t reveal a maneuver, but can they choose to do so after the 1 straight b/c of Genius? 2. If Miranda is ionized, they can still perform a slam action correct? Here is what I thought about using: Lothal Rebel (52) -Engine Upgrade -Accuracy Corrector -TLT -Hera -Ezra Lothal Rebel (48) -Engine Upgrade -Accuracy Corrector -Ion Cannon Turret -Wookie Commandos On Genius, since the initial bomb drop (with bomblet generator) never triggered in the first place since no move was revealed, does Genius still work after moving when ionized?
