Winrate is a really bad way to judge which talents are good. Use pickrate if you're going to go off just one number. Just the fact that Ultralisk has the higher win rate is very telling.

When I try out a new character I read all the talents, load up hotslogs, check all the popular and high win rate talent choices and start experimenting with things that sound good together, eventually work out a build I prefer, and side adaptations for different game scenarios from past experiments. I've read very few good guides, and most of the guide sites I've read generally tend to be terrible about keeping up with patch changes or just have blatantly lovely advice.

I wish Icy Veins would automatically take you to the talent page rather than the full walkthrough when you go to a character page. A lot of characters only have one 'true build' on a characters main page, and then you look at the talent page and they talk about how most talents are viable with a decent explanation of when/why to use it.

My first 100 levels in HotS: Click a level 1 character. Queue. Loading screen comes up. Go to Icy Veins and pick the build that's on the top. They would be useless even for that if they didn't give you a build immediately. If only the builds were a little better.

Icy veins is pretty terrible. Hotslogs filtered to master is better but you don't get the full story. Just because a talent has 15% pick rate doesn't always mean it is awful, sometimes it's just situational. Hotslogs won't help you understand when that talent might be picked. I like srey's videos on YouTube, he has 30 minute overviews for many heroes and he is pretty spot on most of the time. https://www.youtube.com/user/EyeHi

Yeah, I got a surfboard as well in these last couple of days. It was pretty great, since I would have totally bought one yesterday. Now I only spent 50 shards for the one spray I didn't have yet.

Same exact thing happened here. Eventually ended up with two of each skin (including both Tychus variants), all but one portrait, and about half the sprays, and just finally got a surfboard this week. I wish I had gotten better color schemes in some cases, but considering I didn't have to throw down any gems or shards aside from grabbing the missing sprays, can't really complain.

These loot boxes were utterly hosed for me. I received precisely zero (0) event loot items from the ones I opened during the event (E: and I opened at least one chest a day, every day), EXCEPT for the five bonus chests I got from the Sun's Out, Guns Out raffle. I actually got some kind of event item from each of those, including Bikini Stitches. If it didn't seem so far fetched, I'd almost suspect that the normal "level up and get a chest" chests were bugged and weren't actually event chests for me, but I guess I'm just an extremely outlier of bad luck.

I had 2310 shards when servers went down. Only event item I didn't have was speedo Tychus (though had like 4 trunks version). I guess it is a good thing the server went down when it did because paying 2400 shards just to have a giant penis bulge on a hero I don't play probably wouldn't have been worth it.
