mind you my experiences are based off the southeast the Midwest is worse in a lot of ways imo.

Word of advice for everyone who lusts for poor white death on an internet forum:

Instead of doing that, try talking to your crazy uncles, cousins, aunts, grandparents. Seek some consensus on progressive issues like getting money out of politics or Medicare for All.

I don't see how you can say this with a straight face while West Virginia still exists. I get that they need more help than the ACA gave them but... they're willingly signing their death warrants.

I've tried this with my coworkers. I tell them about the economic aspects of it, how single payer saves money, works better by every metric, and would even save the company money by removing the health plan as an expense. The response is that they work hard for their insurance so why should others have it and also WHO statistics on survival rates are Jewish lies.

Carly shook her glass, willing the ice to melt. "You still haven't told me what the mission is."

She leaned forward. "We are going to assassinate the bad men of Hollywood."

On the national level you don't have to win over all or even most rural + suburban whites to win elections, you just can't get completely killed 70-30 in every municipality in America.

this also. you don't have to win over everyone, just enough to win or make it narrow enough to put the fear in whoever gets elected.

i know plenty of people who are non-voters who will, at the drop of a hat, rant against wall street, corporations, rich people etc. i've talked with them and they feel like both parties are in the pocket of the rich (they're not wrong), and think they're not gonna do anything for regular folks. it hasn't been hard to start bringing them around to the logical conclusion of their criticisms (eat the rich)

If it's so easy to convince these people and your message is a sure laserbeam to success, why hasn't there been success.

Common people don't feel like the system really represents them, and nobody with the power to change that has had success in getting any backing within the system, because it doesn't represent common people

The DSA seems to be trying but right now their membership is tied with 4 of the 5 towns that are near my rural illinois home. Seems they'd have more members if their message was a siren song filled with milk and honey

a lot of the young people i've talked to said they lost interest in voting when sanders dropped out of the race. most of them either can't afford to go to college, don't want to, or are gonna have to go into a lot of debt to do so. they don't want to live in a small town forever, and the ticket to getting out is education. they felt like clinton didn't have anything to offer them and they weren't gonna vote for trump either. a lot of them just plain skipped voting in their first election

Communism will help more white people than anyone else. Any equal measures unfairly provide less to minority populations just because there's less of them. Democracy is truly the tyranny of the mob.

Podesta: Clinton absolutely supports the TPP, she's always valued the diplomatic power of trade and considers the deal to be a milestone achievement.

Obama: Clinton absolutely opposes the TPP, her primary concern is the well being of the American people and she wouldn't do anything to detrimentally affect them.

obama's legacy was learning that you can be a lame duck president for 6 years, and that compromise with the republican party gets you absolutely nothing
