I haven't had a real life argument about anything then personal relationship poo poo in several years, and definitely enjoy hanging out with my friends, co-workers and family more as a consequence. I'm not being provoked, I intentionally seek out simple people with simple ideas of the world and browbeat them with facts and realities of our complicated world, so I can roll my eyes at them in the real world and keep on walking. It's fun. Humans have argued since the dawn of time to let off some steam, the only problem with it was that sometimes it escalated into fists and worse. Internet solves that problem. And I don't call people anything without explaining why they exactly fit that moniker. Maybe I don't bother with synonyms but I trust the hypothetical audience enough for that.
