That was dull, just some reshuffling. Now it's up to Alliansen to show if they have balls or will back down again as with DÖ. It's also quite funny how MP has become completely irrelevant in Swedish politics.

They did. Ygeman and Johansson had to leave the government but Hultqvist stayed with Löfven's support.

KD and SD rages against Hultqvist. The rest of alliansen seems to have no clear idea of what they want.

Vänsterpartiet is angry at both S and Alliansen and also capitalism.

Pretty much, yeah.
According to Alliansen, Hultqvist will go once Riksdagen opens UNLESS something pops up that redeems him.
One way to keep all of this going for a long time and Lövven is going to have to eat this until next election.

Major parties from right to centre agree that prayer rooms in high schools are in fact crypto-Islamism and must be stopped. Turns out they're mainly used by Christians. Marie Krarup (Danish People's Party, fundamentalist Christian) exclaims, "Something must be wrong with the facts."

Hey, if they're gonna let a fear of Muslims result in a weakening of Christianity/religion in general within schools, then who are we to complain?

I doubt religious people will stop being religious because they're denied a little corner to do their thing. They're also used by people who just want some peace and quiet.

But it's symptomatic of the fierce projection in the Danish People's Party:

http://politiken.dk/debat/analyse/art5458597/Findes-der-flere-parallelsamfund

quote:

So TSgate continues, albeit at a slower pace.
Apparently Ann Linde, secretary at the justice department, now minister in trade, knew about the issues at TS a couple of months before the outsourcing to IBM in 2015 according to DN.
The reason why Lövven didn't know about the issues despite apparently having weekly meetings with 2 of the ministers in the know, Ygeman and Hultqvist, in the security council Lövven started in 2014 might be that the security council was a paper construction, since apparently no notes of the meetings even taking place are available. That explains a lot, but hardly in a good way.
We haven't seen a smoking gun on Lövven, which I guess is something a lot of journalists are searching for at the moment. Regardless, this is going to be a thing until next election.

Prayer rooms are terrible and should, in fact, be abolished, as religion has no place in a working environment, and certainly not in schools. That this backfired and exploded in the face of Christians is just a delightful bonus.

Yeah, the lack of primer for Danish politics is a pity, but unsurprising, given the inherent laziness of the Swede. Anyway, I posted one earlier in the thread, but here's the updated version for the current political situation. I've also fixed a few inaccuracies from my last post.

Formerly the Social Democrats, the Social Democracy had its named changed by the new leader Mette Frederiksen to get the stench of the former leader off the party and to attempt to claim the entire Danish welfare state as their own. Whether it'll work to reverse the decades long pounding the party has been on the receiving end of only the future will tell.Their main supporters are people hoping to turn the clock back 50 years.

The Danish People's Party needs little introduction, having made their presence known on the European stage as their support has grown. Should the Social Democrats once again fail to address the issues which most worry their electorate, they could easily become the largest party in parliament in the next election. Should this happen, the party promises to subsidize pork production, and make its consumption mandatory in schools. The party is also a great supporter of sports and outdoors life, and see it as a way to take unruly kids off the streets and teach them discipline and order, and hopefully win glory and honor for Denmark at international competitions. Most likely to institute Sharia law, albeit accidentally.

A traditional liberal party and the party of farmers, they are for free markets and opposed to government intervention. The main focus of the current government has been to do everything in their power to support Danish farmers, through deregulation and redefining agricultural lands as nature. Whether this is enough to prevent a further loss of voters to the Danish People's Party only time will tell. Has recently become a bit adventurous, by throwing their weight behind non-land based farmers - supporting aquaculture projects that will trigger anoxia in most of the inner Danish waters.

The Red-Green Alliance is the primary party of left-leaning men, attracted by sexy spokeswomen. Has seen strong growth in recent years, due to the failures of traditional left-leaning parties.

A newish political party, Liberal Alliance is very pro-equality. Everyone should be judged equally harshly for not being rich, especially foreigners.

The Uber of political parties. Or maybe twitter. It's certainly disruptive though. What are their positions? No one is quite sure, but they seem to be enjoying themselves, and that is the most important part according to their manifest.

The Radical Left split off from the liberal party about a century ago, and has now matured into the urban version of the former. The Justin Trudeau of political parties.

What is there to say? The Socialist People's Party chased the populist vote but couldn't keep up, and now the party is falling apart. Their voters will likely be subsumed into The Alternative, since they at least know how to have fun.

Once upon a time a powerful ally of the near-absolute king, the current party has seen better days. In recent years, the party has attempted to ride the populist wave, but all this has managed to do is shed their traditional supporters in the Whiskey Belt, who would prefer everything to just not change, ever.

A brand new party, the New Bourgeoisie, is all about sovereignty. Sovereignty to not have to respect foreign bureaucrats, domestic bureaucrats, nature, and people who do not own a yacht.

gently caress that.
If you are in science as NNIT is(?) then learning Danish is purely optional, most Danes are ok in English and many of my coworkers never bothered to learn it. If it is a more permanent stay, you might want to.
Also, why care about Danish Politics, it is not like you will be able to vote and in general you won't discuss Danish politics.
Get your CPR number, nemid and get your healthcare first. If you are on a temporary position less than five years with high salary or a PhD, you might get researcher taxation which is a flat tax rate. Ask your employer.
