Right! I fall somewhere between truck and taxi drivers, would it be all right for me get a mad maxed-up concrete mixer work truck and just kind of let whatever happens happen?

Insurance would ruin me.

I am guessing that all truckers including concrete mixers on some level is built on Meth due to ridiculous quotas.

Logging it pretty dangerous here in NZ too as you get alot of young people forced to to do job training in an inherently dangerous environment that the veterans don't really have the time to do training. This is doing comparatively safe logging where the machines are doing the cutting of healthy trees. Once in a while a cluster would die in a very short time enough to make the news. It doesn't help that for the past 9 years our right wing government has been loosening the rules or not rigorously enforcing them.

gently caress right wing governments and their OSHA.

I take it oil and gas exploration falls under the "Mining Machine Operators"?

I'm wondering what the rate of "fatalities for noted hazards" are, as in a violation being written up about it, but it killed someone because they couldn't be assed to care find the time or shut it down to do so.

Just googling oil and gas fatalities gives a report from the same year, with 25, just under miners. It also mentions the oil and gas codes cover transportation ie shipping specialty material/equipment into a well and the previous decade 40% of oil and gas fatalities were transportation related. Road safety is atrocious.

Hmmm this just made me realize. In a flood combustion engines just stall. What the hell happens to electric cars? I can't imagine lithium batteries like water very much.

Some years back I came to work early one Spring morning and saw half the yard was flooded. I knew there was a drain in the "deepest" part so I started up a big-rear end fork-lift truck and carefully laid out a path of pallets so I could go and un-block the drain cover. While I was busy trying to clear the blockage, I didn't notice a gust of wind blew some of the pallets adrift (because they're made of wood and kind of float) so I had to wait like 10 minutes for the yard-cum-lake to drain enough for me to walk back without getting my shoes and trousers all wet. Welp that's my story about water god bless.

Electric car batteries are sealed with contactors for each pole inside. A short would open them. If the contactors or sealing fail, you get swelling cells with a high risk of combustion as they dump out their energy, producing hydrogen gas in the process.

Do you realize that fluoridation is the most monstrously conceived and dangerous communist plot we have ever had to face?

I'm not some crazed EV apologist here, but he should remove it from the car first, as that will close the relay(or is it open the relay? It breaks the circuit) in the charger and kill any current draw.

It's quite clear he's a car salesman, so i think he should stand in the water, wet his hands, and gets his fingers as close to the metal prongs as possible to see how fast he can make that ugly rear end watch spin.

it's an electrical tester screwdriver. they have a resistor inside and a little neon bulb which you can see lit up in the picture

you poke them into live electrical sockets to see if the outlet is live

There are less cheap induction ones thst are all plastic and you can hold it to the side of a cable and see if its live with no need to touch contacts.

It means that there is 110 -220VAC running through the water supply lines somewhere, and that you should be wearing your well-insulated shoes whilst showering or washing your hands.
