What were the most memorable games from your team's regular season? Gimme some fun games to go back and watch.

Literally the only good night in the entire Canucks season last year was the night Mattias Ohlund got inducted into the Canucks Ring of Honor on December 16th. They were against the Lightning and the crowd was super into it and chanting like crazy.

Every other home game the arena was extremely dead because nobody cared, but that night was fun.

another game at nationwide arena. everybody keeps asking me if they can fuck the cannon. buddy, they don't even let me fuck it

quote:

To me, this was the most surprising result of the survey. After years of ineptitude, one good season has turned the tide completely on how Columbus is viewed. The team jumped from bottom five to borderline top five after one season. Should our opinions have changed that much or is this an over-correction because they shouldn’t have been that low to begin with? It’s interesting to think about and it’ll be even more interesting after this season because the team is due for some regression. One thing to give them credit for is their trades. They aren’t afraid of making a big splash and it’s worked out well for them recently.

I found it hard to believe the team was as bad as it was in 2015-16 (I thought they'd be a bubble team that year), but Torts pulled that team to Bettman .500 under his watch somehow (and it's amazing that 34 wins is considered bad nowadays when it was "Ok, they did alright, I guess..." in the early days of my watchin' 10-11 years ago). As for last year, it's amazing what happens when you get a competent defensive corps and Good :cop:.

Judging the categories in the survey, the roster building has been solid enough to where they can buy out a potential 20-goal scorer because there's no room at the inn anymore, they've unfucked the Horton/Clarkson cap screwup, their players who have worked through the pipeline are solid, I can think of one stupid trade Jarmo has made (should've just kept Gaborik to the end of 13-14), and JD/Jarmo have built the team to where they've only had one losing season since the lockout (they even won 42 games in 2014-15 when half the team was dead at one point).

We just get to hope like hell that it doesn't implode. :ohdear:

e- I guess the book is still out on Saad for Panarin, but as long as Bread Man doesn't go full Jeff Carter, I figure it should work out at least decently.

-10-0 vs Montreal in November.
-Battle for the lead in the Metro, East, and NHL vs. Pittsburgh 12-22-16.
-CBJ@MIN on New Year's Eve with both teams having won at least 12 straight.
-The beatin' they laid on the Isles in February.
-The game against New Jersey in March when the CBJ clinched just because of how pants-on-head stupid it was.

Opening night Toronto v Ottawa was great for the 4 goals. The Centennial Classic was good, went to OT. Toronto Vancouver on Nov 5 was nutso, that's the game where Kadri hit Sedin and then it erupted into nonsense. Toronto/Pittsburgh on April 8th was intense as they tried to clinch a spot, the players were so giddy. Toronto/Boston on Feb 4 was amazing as they went up 4-1 after a Nylander hat trick only to have the game tied.

Both Oilers/Bruins games.
March 23 oilers at avalanche bearing it was 20 hours, 1000 miles, and a mile in altitude away from the oilers previous game.

In addition to these, the Oilers home opener against the Flames was fun. The March 28 game between the Oilers and Kings was also good since the Oilers had a chance to clinch a playoff spot on home ice that night so the crowd was really into it. The April 1 game between the Oilers and Ducks was fun as both teams were fighting it out for the division lead at the time. And even though it was a loss, the Dec. 8 game between the Flyers and Oilers is worth watching just to see how the Oilers score 5 goals over the course of the game and Jonas Gustavsson fucks everything up and allows 6.

Stubhub or Kijiji. Kijiji is a classified ad board, so it's person to person. It'll be cheaper but you might have to work out meeting the seller. Stubhub is easy and idiot proof but will cost more of course.

Aside from the Montreal game you should have no problem getting cheap tickets from the Sens own website (they rarely sell out). Most of the time I get tickets in the upper deck for 25-40 dollars. And I don't imagine that either of Detroit or Vegas will be huge draws. Well maybe Vegas for the novelty.

If you do use stubhub, keep in mind that the prices are listed in US dollars, rather than Canadian.

Om nom nom
Alexander Semin has retired, and is applying to a masters program in metallurgy of all things. Shame he never seemed to get his head or heart fully into the game, he was so athletically gifted, his wrist shot was one of the best I've ever seen, and when he was on he could be a game changer. I thought like he'd be a core player for the Capitals there for awhile, his 08-09 and 09-10 seasons were really drat good, but he tapered off after that, scoring less and taking more and more lazy penalties. I don't think we'll see anything like him again anytime soon:
