Bourdais is now known as the Ironman IMO. gently caress I really hope he gets an Indy 500 win before he hangs it up .. He'd have won it this year. I really believe that.

I think Honda's colors should be Red and White kinda like these two: So the current Honda is well in line with that. And Chevy should be best colored like this: That is, if we're going for a test car simply with a bowtie or the squared "H" on the side. I don't know, I kinda like it when manufacturers have a recognizable scheme. The Toyota IMSA GTO/GTP/SCORE colors come to mind in that regard. I rant about this all the time, but Toyota really feels like it was well liked/beloved in the SCORE/IMSA/Indy communities. In Cup? I swear every week someone angrily tweets about how the foreign car winning a race. It just feels like their resources are better served being the big fish in a small pond like Honda, Mazda, or Nissan are doing within the above racing series. BTW. is there any good information about IMSA on the web like stats and pics?

Pook/Formula 1 has a high potential of benefits, but also significant time and costs associated with switching over, with no solid understanding of future liabilities to Long Beach should F1 take their ball and go home or never come in the first place. In other words: No poo poo, Sherlock. You didn't need to waste your time or money commissioning a study for this.

F1 hosed up by not trying to make The Glen (US GP) and Long Beach (US GP West) work long term. Those were great venues for them and could have done wonders in keeping their series more relevant in the states. It's too late to turn back the clock. Indy took the ball they dropped with Long Beach and ran with it. It's worked out great for Long Beach, it's worked out great for IndyCar since the mid 80's...hell it's worked out great for IMSA, PWC, SST, and various other support series who've used that weekend as a show case. Not to mention the costs of going to that race versus going to an F1 race. So fans would also be getting screwed. It's just better for everyone to keep it going.

So it seems increasingly likely that Mexico City is going to happen. Obviously it hinges on Gutierrez (but given he has some good backing, he'll be back), but Indy wants to get the whole affair set in stone, then use it to hopefully use it for leverage in the TV talks for a Spanish-language broadcast.

I think one of my friends on twitter made a good point in regards to how IndyCar could greatly help it's "ratings" by getting on Univision much like how F1 has seem a bump in it's own ratings by doing as such. I do think that it would be in Indy's best interest to have at least 2 Mexican drivers, 2 Canadian drivers, and 2 races in those countries respectively to ensure some sustained numbers/growth to people in North America. ChampCar had the above down to a science and it's probably one of the few reasons why they were able to stay afloat until 2007 or so.
