That makes sense. Man now I'm remembering all sorts of things from that Sonic Boom. The weirdest thing is when they brought a number of cosplayers on stage he seemed to actually know what character the person dressed up as Scourge was.

Please no character DLC Please four packs of new levels DLC As an aside watching the act 1 videos its pretty astounding how much new content there is even in those levels. I replayed Chemical Plant a bunch on the mobile port and there's still so much clearly added to the level in mania, plus there's a full new act which adopts mechanics and adds new ones. I don't think they'll do character DLC. I think they want to make a point of it being just the first three. The 3D games get flak for just adding more and more characters and I think Mania wants to seperate itself from that as much as possible. DLC level packs though I am TOTALLY down for.

I've had a terrible urge to try Sonic 4 episode 2 again. I beat the first episode, and was pretty let down by it for reasons that have already been well documented in this thread. From what I played of episode 2, it's an improvement but I'm not sure if it's enough of one or if it just completely shits the bed in the latter acts. Anyone care to advise me in this highly questionable urge? Basically, I really need Sonic Mania out.

I enjoyed Episode 2 well enough. It's not really classic Sonic, but it plays decently enough and the level design is more imaginative. It had some neat badniks. As an Advance-style adventure I think it's a decent enough game.

Stop making excuses for the pizza man caught loving your childhood because he's wearing a Sonic mask. Yes, the mask doesn't have bitmap dithering now. An improvement isn't meaningful if he shouldn't have been a blurry gently caress in the first place. I can't wait to read reviews where some hack fraud in the comment informs us that Sonic 4 Episode 2 is actually better than Sonic Mania while listing off a bunch of reasons. I'm sure it'll start with "is all new levels, not a bunch of remixed rehashes" and then maybe some underlying racism toward aussies. And please don't argue with my fictitious Sonic 4E2 youtube comment guy, because they're sharping their keyboards as we speak. They'll be ready on the 15th. Save your strength for comforting beep by grandpa when mania gets a 7.838 on IGN or something and he just can't take this hosed up world anymore.

I prefer to save the overdramatic notion of something staining my childhood memories for things like, say, realizing the majority of your favorite comic book was marked by editorial chaos, poor management, petty egos clashing, and terrible, terrible art that culminated in a court case that ruined everything for everybody. A game that earns, at best, a C+, is really kind of small potatoes in comparison. At least Episode II let me fight a robot polar bear and play as Metal Sonic. That was neat.
