This Mirri seems quite good? 3/2 First Strike for 3 is a solid rate on the body and the effect is potentially very relevant in its colors. I guess the issue is more that EDH is not often a format decided by efficient small dudes, and when tokens goes off it probably wants to do so hard enough that the opposing board states are unlikely to matter.

Sickening posted:I am over the ultra pro eclipse. They get too sticky for some weird reason. They also get this weird smell... Back to sleeve chat for another moment The ultra pro eclipse are awesome when you first get them - great shuffle feel and the cards sleeve well but after a couple rounds they seem to just get dirty without any reason. A friend bought a pack before a prerelease and gave me half and we both were impressed until about round 4. They're just magnets for dust, dirt, anything floating around in the air. Never had this problem with the old KMC Hyper Mattes. I am still bummed that they sold the company and the new owners changed how they made the sleeves. Luckily I have about 10 older red packs left. When I run out I'm switching to dragon shields.

They've traditionally been great for cube too but tribal this year and last year's four color theme, blah. So the eclipse hype didn't live up? Was thinking of resleeving the cube and dragonshields are a pain with double sleeves, kmcs suck now, ultra pros apparently continue to suck, what's the best option? I'm thinking it may be just continue with old KMCs until I'm out of replacements. So dirty though.......

I've had my highlander deck sleeved in Ultra Pro Eclipse sleeves for two months now, and I play and shuffle that thing quite a lot. I have had zero problems with the sleeves. They don't stick, they don't split and they haven't gotten any dirtier than you'd expect from 2 months of solid use. So yeah, in short: PJOmega posted:Wash your hands you nerds. You could Howard Hughes your sleeves and playmats and after enough use they're going to get cloudy/dirty. Fun fact: washing your hands does not remove all oils from them nor remove dust in the air e: ya, not talking two months. Last time I resleeved my cube was about two years ago and cube is gonna be different than one guy playing with his deck. I assure you I only play with clean people. Unless the sleeves are literally flaking there shouldn't be noticeable accumulation in a day's worth of playing. It's funny how casino cards handle 4 hours of being handled by drunk patrons in a smoke filled environment and they don't end up looking like they wiped methuseleth's rear end in a top hat. Wash your hands.

Other sleeve like the old kmc's and new dragon shields don't have this behavior so I have no clue what the gently caress you are going on about. Different materials are going to produce different results. Sorry this rustles your jimmies.

I have a million unused playmats from attending events but I only used my signed Savannah mat for about a year and it never got dirty at all. Now I have a leather wyrmwood mat my wife bought me for a birthday so I can wipe that thing down with a rag. I'm picky about not putting food or nasty stuff on my mats though.

My eclipse sleeved decks have picked up a lot of dirt and shmoo in a few weeks worth of fnms where my kmc and dragonshield sleeves have been perfectly fine. I thought the eclipses would be the way to go, but a lot of them have bent corners already on top of the grime issue. I'm gonna go back to dragonshields for now.

It's so astonishing how a single bottle of handsoap will keep a LGS bathroom stocked for a month. It's like Hannukah or something. Seriously though, if your sleeves are getting gunked within 4 hours of play and you aren't playing inside an unventilated yurt with a wood burning stove and using a well oiled lambskin as a playmat it isn't the sleeves. It isn't the air. It's your hands. Wash them.

Willeh posted:My eclipse sleeved decks have picked up a lot of dirt and shmoo in a few weeks worth of fnms where my kmc and dragonshield sleeves have been perfectly fine. Eclipse sleeves feel better, but they pick up more gunk just because they're smoother. After a dozen drafts, I had to throw mine away because they felt like wet tissue paper, though they probably would've lasted a lot longer if it wasn't summer with the usual AC issues. Plus they're hard to find right now; a friend of mine who works for a distributor told me they had issues with colors fading at different rates, and something about the inside black part rubbing off on cards in some batches, so UltraPro is getting that fixed. They feel super satisfying to shuffle and I probably ruined their lifespan by habitually shuffling between rounds. Maybe I should just get a fidget spinner or something, drat. Dragon Shield Matte sleeves don't feel quite as good, but if I were sleeving a cube that needed to last a hundred drafts or whatever, I'd throw some black or dark blue ones on it because they're the longest lasting I've used.

This, and if you don't have a washing machine then wash them in the sink. Get a mild normal non bleach detergent and put a little in a sink of warm water and soak it then ring it out/squeeze it out and do it again. Hang it up to dry after a few times in the soapy water and a good rinse.

I'm with you in the 'these sleeves shuffle so good I have to do it all the time' boat They have vanished from stores here too, I'm probably gonna try them again in a few months to see if they hold up better.
