My dumb anecdote for angle grinding metal is: as long as you're not wearing long sleeves doing it (so a bunch of bits don't get caught inside and instead bounce off you and keep flying), you'll be fine, because contact time with skin is too low to cause much feeling of hot, much less damage or discomfort. You can kinda see her reacting to something just as she pauses with the grinding, though.
