(also, not every incrementalist democrat is lazy or crooked or whatever. a lot of them just don't try to push what they don't think can currently get passed. maybe they're correct and politically savvy; maybe they're just gutless and out of touch with today's voters, in which case you can prove them wrong! either way, those guys can still be helpful allies in a coalition)

The filibuster is bad and should have been abolished in 1993 when Republicans started abusing it. Its only function is to allow Republicans to block legislation that they'd never have the stones to repeal once it's passed. Well and it's a convenient scapegoat for Democrats to blame whenever they promise something that their corporate donors don't want them to deliver.
