Vega64 is reported as being at least twice as good at mining as 1070's. What is the ROI going to be, 50 days or so? Hopefully some used rx580's start hitting the market as miners swap in Vega's. We know they are just going to make new rigs and keep the old ones going too.

I mean I just installed and played a few games on the card a miner subsidized heavily for me, so if the bubble wants to get going again in the next six months so I can upgrade to a 1080ti for the cost of a used 1070 and $100, it's a fine time to start.

I get that logically mining is worthless but frankly theres no logic to anything else nowadays and btc price broke 3300. I wonder if money will flood into crypto if the economy shits the bed again like people are wondering if it might?

Mining isn't worthless, it's that buying new hardware to mine is basically gambling because it's an unknown whether or not you're gonna get ROI. I've been mining on hardware I owned prior to the mining boom and I've made $800, in that case it's obviously worthwhile. I also made a couple hundred flipping cards but I wouldn't try doing more of that at this point. MaxxBot fucked around with this message at 21:36 on Aug 6, 2017 |

This is already happening: non-garbage assets aren't giving enough returns (because the Tories claim to be the party of business but are incompetent at actually running an economy), so loving idiots are taking out mortgages to buy crypto with. Behold, a group of people I hope don't read my book.

Crypto chaos has allowed me to pay for a 1080ti by flipping entry level gpus and then eat no less than 50 burritos from mining on that 1080ti so I'm basically an economics mastermind.

You arent really mining for what the buttcoins are worth now anyway, you do it for their future value. Right now you have a burrito a day but as soon as the blockchain takes off and the worlds entire stock trade is done over ethereum youre a billionaire.

maybe as high as 8, hashrate is still not confirmed. I honestly wouldnt put it past AMD to have leaked/fabricated the hashrate to drive sales. Like they give a poo poo when cards dont go to gamers.

I don't think Bitcoin Cash is gonna go far, hell it's not even supported on Coinbase so I don't see any point in mining them. Also GPU mining seems to be running back to normal, now I can get slightly bigger profits instead of just 2 bucks a day.
