That's how it works on people that have certain ADD type things - it ties up that part of the brain, so to speak, while the rest is free to concentrate on whatever important thing. Unfortunately I guess it's just a toy now for 90% of the people who have it, and that's where the comic is coming from, and it's ruining the whole thing for the people that it was designed to help

Wait is she a hedgehog? I just spent too much time looking up whether porcupines were placental mammals or not. (They are, but would probably eat the afterbirth like most placental mammals apparently do, so just as well we aren't getting too scientific a representation here....)
