Awesome! You win a Sonic Mania. I'm glad that so many people tried it. Casino Night has alternate paths which turn out to be death or softlock traps. For Evil Eagle's part, you use the spring very lightly to the left. The crab bumper enemies turn around if you wait. Each act has a different gimmick, and Casino Night is the only one with softlocks. If just want to try others or practice, the normal level select and debug codes work.

I put a lot of thought and video searching/remembering to put together a playlist for a Sonic Mania hype stream, and it turns out this is over 8 hours long. So I think I'll break it into two streams. One for pre-dreamcast stuff that to show on Monday night, and one for post-dreamcast stuff to show the night before Sonic Forces comes out. Pre-dreamcast content includes one episode each of AoSTH, SatAM, and Underground, the OVA, assorted Sonic commercials and promotional videos, a couple retsupurae videos, docfuture's Sonic 1 Easy Mode video, Chip Cheezum's stream where he creates a Sonic OC akin to the ones he had as a kid, and finishes off with some Sonic Mania trailers. Post-dreamcast content includes game trailers and other promotional bits, various fan videos of note, and one episode each of Sonic X and Sonic Boom.

On a side-note, as part of the research effort, I watched Sonic: Nazo Unleashed for the first time. It was a lot more enjoyable than I expected. Also the creator is working on a new project now, and they're surprisingly good at art and animation for a largely one-person project.

It was changed to Groundhog Day when settlers came to America because there aren't any hedgehogs here so they picked the next closest thing. *Dr. Robotnik often calls Sonic a "pesky rodent" but he would be incorrect because hedgehogs are not rodents and are more closely related to shrews and moles. *The vast majority of mammals (with the exception of primates) are red\green colorblind because early mammals were primarily nocturnal and this helped with night vision. So in the Archie comics, when Knuckles turned green for some stupid reason, nobody would have noticed except for Dr. Robotnik and that Journey to the West monkey guy. *We all know that since Tails is a Fox, in real life, he would have eaten Sonic. Maybe that's why he always follows him around. However the primary predator of hedgehogs are badgers. Sticks the Badger is another one of Sonic's friends. I guess he likes to live dangerously. *Since hedgehogs roll into balls for protection, their skin is extremely loose as a result. Because of this, sometimes they suffer from a rare condition and unfortunate called balloon syndrome in which gas builds up underneath the skin and they... well... they literally inflate like a balloon. Hedgehogs have been known to inflate to twice their size like a beach ball. A veterinarian at this point has to well, cut a hole in the skin and pop them like a balloon so they deflate. So in a weird way, whenever you go on deviantart and see all that weird loving Sonic inflation fetish fan art, now you know that this is a real thing that actually happens and now the line between reality and bizarre sexual deviants on the Internet has become blurred

Gonna have Tuesday and most of Wednesday off, gonna play the poo poo outta this Monday night. I played through Sonic 2 twice yesterday, the second time with it plugged into the & knuckles cart.  I've never played Sonic 2 with Knuckles before, the Metropolis Zone boss is a lot harder with him since he can't jump as high as Sonic.

Is tails as 2p co-op confirmed? Me and my sister played the poo poo out of Sonic 2 back in the day (awesome to see the competetive mode return btw) and i think that would be the best way to enjoy our first playthrough of Mania.

Tails is playable in co-op, and he can carry you like in Sonic 3. He can also do it in single player.
