LITERALLY A BIRD posted:I like LoB's gimmick because all he's really doing is delivering thread content. He doesn't participate in derails or slapfights, he just keeps producing terrible post after terrible post and the more disruptive the thread is being the deeper into the well he reaches. The whole thread is in on the gimmick now but a couple years ago it was really funny watching people get worked up over the person that was really the thread's content production superstar. That said, I'm totally willing to accept that perhaps I'm just easily amused.

The gimmick boils down to not sourcing quotes, but LoB is great at fishing up stuff and using it to kill derails. He also sometimes slips stuff in to the quotes.

I remember when LOB was normal. Back when we still had TvTropes mocking threads. Then he found the 900 000 word long MLP fanfic and the Dozerfleet Saga and his mind just snapped.

In many cases, it is clear the animal is initiating and consenting, especially in cases where the human is female and thus it would be very difficult to rape said animal. Is it only non-consensual when icky feelings are felt at the thought of it?

At first glance that may sound like terrible porn involving Pokemon, but it's basically eating lots of food online while interacting with the people watching you. It's like South Korea looked at all the weird trends coming out of Japan and said "we can top that". Twitch even has a category for it, although no one is on right now (I guess it's still mostly a Korean thing): https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Social%20Eating

Jurgan posted:That's what the First Amendment is about. As I read it, a law not "respecting an establishment of religion" means that any law has to be defensible on purely secular grounds. Laws that restrict gay rights are unconstitutional regardless of whether they explicitly mention religion, because there's no way to defend them without appealing to religion. Not really. The First Amendment's protection regarding religious freedom, including freedom from religion, has nothing to do with it. Protection against discrimination in the workplace for sexual orientation exists as an interpretation of Title VII of the federal Civil Rights Act of 1964: the Supreme Court accepted the EEOC's argument that discrimination against sexual orientation is a form of sex-based discrimination. The Civil Rights Act is not based on the First Amendment, but rather the Commerce Clause (Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution). When the Supreme Court struck down prohibitions against sodomy and gay marriage, the justices did so on the basis of substantive due process, which is derived from the due process protections of the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.
