Hmmm another Sharks guy: Tim Heed killed it in the AHL last year and has been good in Sweden for a while. I'll go with him because I hate all the RD left and he appears to have talent. So I'm going to make a bit of a logical pick. Right now there are 9 teams without a coach, including myself. 5 of those teams are after me, so they'll have 2 picks before I go again. It's possible that my coach might get picked by one of those 5 teams, so I'll pick who I want now. I'm going to select Bill Peters. Although he wasn't my original choice, the more I thought about him the more I liked him. He's turned Carolina into a strong possession team, and I feel if it wasn't for their horrendous goaltending they could've made the playoffs already in one of the past two seasons. He also coached Team Canada to gold in the 2016 World Championship so that's cool too. Plus he was an assistant coach under Mike Babcock, which seems to produce good coaches. Perds are gonna pick a guy that is a crappy top-6 player, but probably a pretty decent 3rd liner, who is signed to a contract that's probably a year too long, and 1m too much, for a guy of his talent level, but it's for less than 4m AAV and we've got the cap space to cover it, so why the hell not? He's a year removed from back to back ~35 point campaigns with a 20 goal season in there, so maybe he can refind the magic with two young potentially solid players while doing some sick phat 80s run and gun Matt Beleskey D. If he can stay healthy he'll probably get a bunch of PP time. Not that the Canucks are going to score that much, but he could very well see himself slotted with the Sedins for a few shifts if Eriksson continues to be an enormous crap bag. He was super injured last year so it's hard to get a good read on him, but he was one of the team's better forwards in the preseason. Too bad his knee is a delicate crystalline structure at this point. Fun fact: With one career point he is the most successful Canucks 2nd round pick in a dozen years!
