I love Holbrook's comics because they're terrible, but in such a goddamn earnest way.

I think earnestly bad will always be better than panderingly bad. That's why Holbrook and Computoon and even some of the late great bad comics from threads past like Boys and Sports and goddamn Oh Baby are always better than pandering poo poo like Modern Nancy and Intelligent life.

And then there's malignantly bad, which is the category of comics written by assholes who think their poo poo doesn't stink, like Chickweed and Dilbert and Mike DuJour. Those are in their own realm of awful.

Margo is the best. And it's a tragedy that A3G got cancelled when poo poo like Nancy and 9 Chickweed Lane just go on and on forever and the new comics that start up are worthless garbage like Intelligent Life and Edge of Adventure. Even near the end when both writer and artist had clearly given up, A3G was better than any of those.

The joke is that she knew exactly what her mother meant but decided to be cheeky and take the instruction literally instead.
