The Nazi's would've faced less than half as much opposition as they did if they called themselves the party of feeding all homeless dogs. And also made regular uniforms look like Silver Age comic book characters. Stupid people get so hung up on names that no matter how many times you point out how poo poo PETA and the Democratic People's Republic are in contrast to their name it wouldn't make a difference.

I tried to tell someone that at the very least communist ideology doesn't seem as hosed up, and communists and other leftists in general (as opposed to tankies) seem to recognize that those regimes are bad and basically not even communist, with criticism going back to the '30s, while nazis just straight up idolize the loving nazis. He wasn't having it though, because he's seen communists call for killing people who disagree with them on Tumblr.

The majority of the left can look at something "leftist" like the USSR and say "that's hosed up, we disagree with that entirely" but the right goes "it's because people didn't let them swing right HARD ENOUGH."

One of my Navy acquaintances seems to be advocating  while trying to pretend that he's not. I don't understand where he's going with this. The thread started with him speculating about why no one denies that eclipses happen like climate change, and turned into him calling trans people mutants and insisting that gay people are a biological disadvantage. He's never been opposed to gay marriage or anything like that, so it seems weird for him to be saying this poo poo. Although I forgot to expand some of my posts before uploading them.
