Just lol that they had Joss Whedon come in to chop up the movie, only for him then to lose his brand value.

No. You deliberately quoted me out of context. You know this, and have admitted to in the past, but now you’re back again playing the same old shtick. Not interested in having an internet fight with you about Batman V Superman, this was months ago, get over it.

Publicly saying how good a feminist he was, "signalling" it in interviews and on Twitter, so he could take advantage of fans and actresses was literally what he did though. Yeah that term is usually used by people pretending everyone is as lovely as they are, and those who aren't are faking it. But in this case it literally fits the context of the situation. The term I prefer is "performative wokeness" however, simply because it doesn't have the same stigma.

There a little more to it than hypocrisy. Hypocrisy is doing the opposite from what you preach. Apart from that he was cashing in, using this representation for personal gain.

Well, we all know WB is a fickle loving company, so get on social media to get Joss Whedon off the project before he ruins Batgirl for the big screen. We already have one hack doing so in the animated capacity (between the bouts of him perving on Harley Quinn). Bring out the Snyder signal or get Patty Jenkins on the phone to finish this movie too, WB. Personal preferences not withstanding, just about every person who goes to see a movie likes it looking like a movie and not a cheap TV show.

The first reactions I read (not here, really) was that they thought the film was trying to be 'too realistic.' They couldn't get past the 'Produced by Christopher Nolan' and just structured their criticism around that, regardless of whether it made any sense.
