It can be done without minimizing the effect those people have had on their targets, in a way that resonates authentically and wins converts to your side. Or you can turn it into an ironic punchline meant to ignore any problems. It turns out doing latter sends a strong exclusionary message to people who've witnessed or experienced that shitiness first hand.
