Mariana Horchata posted:someday id enjoy a basic introduction to the bradophone, what is is comprised of (that isn't top secret ofc) and how it werks. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eUFY8Zw0Bag so far, the bradophone has been a chain of signal generators and processors that ends with my roland sp-404sx providing recording and many varied fx. just last week i got this incredible digital delay and pitchshifter module which i mounted into the worlds most expensive headphone amplifier, the Curly 2.0. instead of like, synthesizing into it i just plugged in some radio birdman and holy poo poo i never in my life heard a delay grab onto the material so well when changing the delay times (a key technique of mine; instrumental in selecting this module over some fancier sampler was the fact that a new delay is like a new guitar: i already know how to play it and just hafta learn exactly how this one works, whereas samplers can be so different that its like learning a whole new instrument sometimes) anyway this fancy delay and the whole modular was what i did the fx on the creedence remix with and what i made the spaceship sound with: once the instrumental break begins, i started clocking the delay time to the music: my tempo detecting circuit wasnt exact because i ran the whole mix into it so it got p crazy; i think i could filter the song to like the kick drum mostly next time and get more steady rhythm (not that a steady rhythm is as necessary as eno would have you believe) idk with the live remixes its kinda crazy: like, listening to it it makes the music sound more real *to me* even tho its obv such weird nonsensical fx, edits, and such that ive done. ive long hypothesized that being able to relate to music even more this way has something to do with my weltanschauung and possibly even deeper aspects of my nature -- that music makes sense when the beat is unpredictable, when the melody jumps to the wrong key at the wrong place, and that sort of thing its not like i really go into this stuff with a lotta theory at the forefront of my mind, its just that the sampler is the most semiotic artistic tool yet devised by man, imo, and that my modular synthesizer is in a real and literal way a synthesis of everything i have spent the last three decades learning -- how i am able to use such minimal effort to get results that i find so rewarding is such a mystery to me that i have spent no small time trying to solve it the roland sp-404sx/404a is a really fun box and it records to redbook quality (44.1k/16) wav or aiff files on an SD card and it has RCA and 1/4" ins and outs so its super easy to get sounds into and out of and uh, my first 2 mixtapes were made with basically that thing alone, so id recommend getting one. also the sonofagun has a built in mic and batttery power so you can like, do crazy poo poo out of doors with it. my sp-303 has way better sound in a lotta ways but the battery power, microphone, and hours upon hours of SD recording make it real cool i have a hardware daw that i wanna record into some time but  the 404 just works and uh idk i need to get some poo poo on my bandcamp is the next step i reckonidk if that anwered your question  if u need more clarification/obfuscation
