working in the advertising industry is trash and sometimes I love it except when brands ask for dumb poo poo when all they have a to do is reach and frequency to get increase tom and never mention the word viral or influencers unless they are taking about dumb beauty products with a tracking mechanism.

also I feel bad when creating Re-targeting pixels to annoy people with.

aspirational ads aren't that bad, they usually have decent cinematography and audio at least

one that's totally played out now is what I call the anthem ad with usually stock-looking footage of attractive people doing interesting things while different people say "we" constantly like "we work hard" "we play hard" "we know what we want out of life" with finally "we need excitement from a new kind of salad dressing" it's like the aspirational ad but way more nakedly banal

the market research ad is the absolute worst of 20teens trends though, loving gm

Oh you're looking at financial investment ads. They have to be cut that way because how else are you going to make customers feel good about a guy in a tie and dress slacks pressing buttons on a dell?

so the way we do ads is based on audience and consumer data to get interesting insights that we target with creative and a media campaign based on reach and frequency to a targeted audience provided by a dmp, maybe Blue Kai (Oracle) or perhaps Navegg, or other company whoring your juicy data patterns so we can create clusters and avoid showing you poo poo you don't care about.

lol, but sometimes that doesn't really happen, and brands just burn that budget on Adwords and get me clicks which are my KPI for some reason and why is my roas so poor.
