The Rose Prince Music: Town (Day)  Micah's started producing Medium Fleece. The main differences from the small version are that it gives a slightly larger defense bonus when used to upgrade & you only need one to make a yarn ball instead of three. Exciting! And higher levels mean more money & better dishes, so that's a Very Good Thing.  Carmen gets some sashimi from the not-squid I fished up, and...  Since you gave me this, I need to tell you something! I love Seafood Doria only slightly less than I love my brother. There, I said it! So, keep that in mind next time!  One thing I've noticed in bachelorette chat is that nobody really brings up Shara, for good or for ill. I'm proud of you all, but I do feel obligated to do her quests still. Besides, this one leads to Monica actually being a character instead of a "I hate you, I'm gonna bite you!" dispenser.    It's about Monica...I'm sure you've noticed, but she's very shy around people. That's why she's always talking about biting them. That might be okay now, but I'm worried that she won't grow out of it. So I was hoping that you might be able to give me some advice.In any other game, that wouldn't be a serious long term worry. In RF3, Shara has every reason to be concerned that Monica will become "that villager with the biting gimmick". Hmmm. That's a tough one...what's something that Monica likes? Something she likes? Well, she likes anything that has to do with accessories. Hm...I can't see how that'll help us. Oh, wait... Did you think of something else? She had a favorite fairytale when she was younger. Really? But he didn't want her to see him. She would recognize him as the prince, and fall all over him just like all the other girls in the kingdom. He had a 100-rose bouquet with him, though. It was a gift that he was supposed to give to a princess he'd been arranged to marry. So the prince took his bouquet apart rose by rose and left a trail of roses for the girl to follow to safety. But the girl was faster than the prince expected. She caught him as he was laying down the last rose at the end of the forest. She loved him, but not just because he was a prince. She loved him for the kindness of his gesture. And the prince knew he'd found his princess.  Although now she's too shy to read it anymore. Heh. That's cute. That's it! Link! Don't you think that Monica might have an easy time talking to "The Rose Prince"? Uh, I guess so? He's someone who she's always admired. I'm sure "The Rose Prince" could open up her heart! Most of the day is spent fishing instead. Summer has a good variety of fish, including that insanely pricey squid Yui was selling.  I also do a bit of wood chopping and show off the axe charge. Link does an insane jump that somehow chops a row of three things at once. It's not super useful compared to later ones that do entire squares, but it'll do for now.     Wait, I never said anything CLOSE to that! Will! Get back here, you idiot! Uh, Will must have accidentally gotten into the wine supply! He's clearly talking crazy! Y-Yeah, that must be it! That's nice and all, but shut up while I shove these mugs of hot chocolate in your face. Kuruna loves cooked chocolate dishes(regular old bars of chocolates are just a liked item instead of a loved one), and Hot Chocolate is the easiest one to make en masse. Put one chocolate in the pot. I'm not super sure about the soil mechanics in RF3, but if it's anything like RF4 then one of the penalities for poor soil is slower-growing crops. Which is bad, since we need them to fuel the cooking/gifting/crop levelling machine.  Monica doesn't automatically notify you when it's past 7, but she'll whine about it if you talk to her. It really is amazing to see the difference in Monica after this quest. If nothing else, Shara is the "default" bachlorette who is most worth pursuing in these games by opening up another character's personality.

Your Bath Needs You Music: Monster Village  It appears that our comrades in the glorious Univir settlement wish to show us the glory of the also glorious desert. Let's see it for ourselves!    That's right. You need to see the beauty of the desert. Uh, okay. I'm not sure there's much to see, but it might be nice to check out. Ah. You have seen, but you have not observed. I'll show you the majesty of Sol Terrano:Star Dunes. The skies are clear in the afternoon, and it's a perfect place to go stargazing. We were there literally last update!  That's too bad. I was hoping to show you something new. Uh, but it might be, like, different with you there! Do you really think so? Sure! There's always something new to discover! Hmmm...well, if you say so, comrade. Besides, you've come all the way to the settlement, so we should head out there anyway. Sounds good. Uh, which way do we go? We can get to Sol Terrano:Star Dunes directly west from the Sol Terrano Desert entrance.Thankfully I don't have to wait until the sun sets this time.   It's...not quite as impressive this way.  It's so beautiful. And it's surprisingly cool for the desert! Since we're near the ocean, the heat doesn't get too stifling. No, I don't even notice the heat at all! I never really appreciated how magnificent the desert scenery actually is! I could get to really like this place. Isn't it amazing? The Hornless can't appreciate beauty like this. Only we can. I'm not sure about-- An earthquake?! I don't think so. That felt more like a rockslide. Do you get those often around here? Yeah. The rocks around here tend to become unstable, especially after we get rain. So I guess the desert's beautiful...but also awfully dangerous. Nevermind all the things trying to murder us out here. It's the rockslides that make it dangerous! Do you head out here often, Kuruna? I've come here all my life! I used to sneak out here a lot with Ondorus when we were children. That doesn't sound like.appropriate behavior for an elder! Well, even elders used.to be kids, you know. Sorry! I didn't mean.to insult you! Heh. You didn't insult me. I know it's hard to imagine me as a kid. It sure is... Time just flew by back then. It felt like our own secret hideout. It sounds like this place means a lot to you. I wish I could get my memories back... Oh, I didn't mean to offend you! I'm not offended at all! I want to get them back because I want to tell you about my childhood, too! I'd like to hear those memories, comrade.Well, you have to start with the part where a human and a wooly committed crimes against the natural order, and then had to teach their kid how to switch between the forms, and... Well, should we head back to the settlement? Yeah, I have some work to take care of back there.  You know, I always kind of wondered where the rock spawns on the farm came from. The sticks make sense because it's below a giant tree, but the rocks? Are gnomes smuggling them under cover of night? Is Shara putting them there so we have something to do? At least it's not a mystery for the desert fields, because rocks apparently just fall from the sky at random. Hopefully Link's little acorn hat doubles as a hard hat.   And then everything goes black.   Sorry about the partial portraits/dialogue boxes, but the timing for some of these animations is a bitch.  Comrade! You've come to! Oh, I was so worried! What...happened?Oh no, we've lost our memory again! I guess it's time for Kuruna to give us a conveniently empty farm in town and You don't remember? You knocked me out of the way of a falling rock! Oh.The geography of the Rune Factory world is never relevant to the plot(aside from the Sechs Empire invasions in 1 and 4), but you can get more details here if you want. Link...I'd be lying if I said I wasn't a bit scared. But I feel like I need to distinguish myself from other cooks. Cooking is a force that brings together those who eat and those who feed. Neither of those people can say which job is more important. I see.  But I haven't been able to do that very well lately. I keep messing up. All I've been thinking about is growing taller. I haven't seen/played too many of the persona games, but I remember in 4, at least, your on-the-ball ability varied with your personal stats. Carlos is so protective, he's made sure he's the only one showing hefty amounts of cleavage out of all the townspeople, except maybe Fia, and only in fish form, there.

I'm Not Lion Music: Town (Day)  Grass colors are seasonal. Summer brings Green Grass(which I confuse with antidote grass. A lot.), indigo grass, and purple grass(which looks very similar to indigo grass) with it. Why are the fields such a mess all of a sudden? Well...  Summer also brings typhoons with it. They'll cause a ton of poo poo to spawn in your fields, and can delete crops at any stage of growth. This effect also applies to dungeon fields(except the cave field from the fall dungeon). Have fun doing all your planting en masse so you get something out of it once nature is done ruining your day.   Enough whining, though. Sofia needs us!    I've never felt so content! No! I see! So, what happened? I saw some food on the table, so I gulped it down without thinking! But...it...was...FATHER'S FOOD! ...Uh, gotcha. Well, what's the big deal? Just apologize to him. And...that's really the entire gimmick. Amaranthine spams that cyclone spell a lot and Crimsone goes pretty fast, but their attack patterns are nothing noteworthy.   Red one down. Purple one gains a damaging roar at some point but is still nothing to write home about. This is honestly just kind of a filler boss.  And down goes the other one.    Way to ruin the mood. (Villagers will automatically go home at 9PM. I'm assuming Karina stayed later because I dragged her into a boss fight.)   I'm lucky enough to get both lions' drops. Their effects reflect their gimmicks. Music: Mystery   What memory will I get back this time? Where was I before? Why did I come here? What are these orbs to begin with...I hope it all becomes clear, but...    ???: ... ???: Five monsters fled to this town. Will you go after them, Link? Past-Link: Five of them?! Okay...! ???: We're counting on you. ???: ... Past-Link: *pant pant* Where are they? !! Found you! Stop!!...  I was chasing after them. Raccoon from Privera Forest. Skelefang, the monster that attacked the desert settlement. Crimsone, Amaranthine. The monsters here that took Sakuya's and Blaise's lunches. And one more... It's no good. I can't remember the last one. ...! But...I have to go! He's dangerous. I can't rest knowing that he's out there! And that's my only lead to get my memories!So each monster Link was chasing was one of the bosses from the dungeons. No prizes for guessing where the last one shows up. I found that Karina's laziness is actually kind of a plus once you're at a certain point of the game. She won't chase after monsters and thus isn't as difficult to protect as other villagers, and will occasionally save you some tedium by healing you of HP or a status effect or such. Maybe more so when she levels up and you give her some appropriate gear?

So which NPC is the best fighter in this game? There doesn't seem to be anyone like Forte from RF4 with obvious fighting skills anywhere. Considering there's absolutely no military presence anywhere in Norad, and the strongest person in town is usually a random amnesiac farmer, it's a wonder Sechs doesn't own the place already. I suppose they're just afraid of the dragons at this point, and maybe the sudden rash of nigh-invulnerable amnesiacs.

I'm honestly not sure, since I've never gotten into using NPC backup in this game. Although if it's like RF4, the answer is "anyone you equip well and bring along with you often enough that their level's on par with yours," minus the few NPCs with really annoying combat habits. I also just remembered I never showed off that magic seed I got way in the beginning of the game. I suppose I should do that eventually. No, they don't affect cave crops. Those nine yams will be safe! And, uh, nothing else. RF3 doesn't have much in the way of cave fields. What I'd give for RF4's ability to say  to typhoons, though.

Defrost Music: Town (Day)  Malon/Salisb and Micah have upgraded to providing Medium Milk and Medium Fleece, respectively. It sure is nice of the Buffamoo to package the milk in bigger cartons as their output grows.  The Sharance tree gets bigger with each boss we beat, although only the first one gives us more usable space. I'm sure that has no plot relevance whatsoever. I'm pretty sure hammers won't hurt your crops, due to mining hammers not being used to plant/harvest crops. I don't think axes will, either, due to lumber axes not interacting with crops. I'm also almost certain that the gloves in RF4 don't directly map to a tool and thus don't harm crops, but I don't even know if they're in this game.

Gloves in RF4 are lifted directly from RF3's transformed attacks (same animations and everything). So basically, fighting on farmland is fine if you're a sheep at the time!

Hammers return tilled soil to untilled farmland. I just don't know of the top of my head if they destroy crops, too.
