Wait, was the pepperjack thing on a site mocking that they'd have Hermione like it, or mocking someone for being upset for Hermione liking it?

SUPERMAN'S GAL PAL posted:Good old GAFF, my gateway into horrible fanfic and sporking. There's another old site that is still up, "Bad Fanfic, No Biscuit!" that has some short example "trollfics" written as examples of what not to do/poking fun at bad fanfic tropes of ten-plus years ago. I'm not sure whether it's within the ambit of this thread to discuss her but that's a nugget of classic internet crazy that never gets old.

See now I'm wondering whether we all know different crazy things about her. She was on a ton of different websites and seemed to get involved in a new piece of weirdo drama wherever she went. For the record, what I know her for is claiming to be psychically bonded with a huge number (200+) fictional characters then getting really angry whenever anybody contradicted her headcanon, because she was 'bonded with their souls'.

They are determined to find the fabled Hide Park (a place where it's said humans run free) but instead they are caught by a sap-catcher (saps are what bears call humans) and taken to Howling-Tower, a prison-like place of training, and it turns out, evil experimentation. It takes all of Benjamin's ingenuity to survive, but will he manage to escape Too scary for me.

I think the Celebrian they're talking about is an infamous fanfic from the late 90's-early 2000's about a Lord of the Ring's character who is Elrond's wife. Its about how she gets abducted by orcs and goes into some incredibly awful ape stuff. It was considered a 'classic' along with Agony in Pink (Pink Power Ranger being tortured in graphic detail) and Cloud Mows the Lawn (Cloud from FF7 kills and maybe eats the rest of the party?). All of them were staples of the bad fanfic mock websites, which used to be a pretty huge network before they faded away. Zore has a new favorite as of 03:30 on Aug 28, 2017 |

Sailed to the West ahead of everyone else."

The ff.net kerfluffle I remember was when MST3Ks were banned because it was obstinately "plagiarism" but the real reason was fanfic authors getting upset that someone was being negatively critical of their precious story. 15ish years later published authors who came out of being fanfic "big name fans/BNFs" like E. L. James block anyone on social media that dares question the abusive relationship in her books.

I know a similar thing occured (the writer was taken to court over obsenity charges), over a story called Girls (Scream) Aloud - a fictional first person account of the Girls Aloud band being loving brutally murdered. Although the case was dropped due to the specifics required to be considered obscene under the Obscene Publications Act 1959 i.e; it could only be found by people actively search for it (unlikely for the band's tween audience to accidently come across it), and people who were actively searching for snuff fiction were "unlikely to be corruputed by it." The listing of horrible fanfiction is bringing back some repressed memories. I remember one being riffed on, where the premise was Sherlock Holmes (Victorian era one, not the modern interpretations) being given multiple enemas by Watson. And then a catheter. And then more enemas, for about 50000 words. Zero sex or erotism, just clinical descriptions of Watson giving Holmes an enema, which is weirder than if they were just loving.

Haha, I remember that one was on Fan Fiction Friday back when Rob Bricken did Topless Robot. Quick Google says that the title was "The Case of Erudition Towards Reliance". Same Google search also provides a link to a different fanfic writer's ff.net page where they say they want to read the full story because, well... quote:A further point to note: I am absolutely into hurt/comfort fics, so this is what I tend to write and read. I have recently come across an absolutely terrible review of a story that sounds and reads (as the extracts the completely unqualified and nonreflective reviewer included in his/her description show) positively brilliant. So, author of "The Case of Erudition toward Reliance", if you should read this by any chance, I would give quite a bit to be able to read the full story. It sounds like an amazing piece of writing. If you can find it in you, can you imagine reposting it or sending it privately? It sounds so insightful and touching! (And if you felt it needed removing because of the reviewer - shame on him/her for not seeing your story for its greatness!) Thank you for writing it anyway!!! "Shame on you for making fun of 50,000 words of Dr Watson fingering Sherlock Holmes's rear end in a top hat!"

I was wrong about the word count (it's only 13,000 words about Holmes' bowel troubles and making GBS threads the bed) , but holy poo poo it's just as weird as I remember: quote:I patted his thigh to get his attention. The comments are long since deleted, but they did give out alternative comedy titles like; The Five Orange Shits, The Half-pound of the Baskervilles, Adventure of the Copper Breeches, and the Speckled Bed, I think it it was. That's a trip down lovely memory lane.

'Cloud mows the lawn' sounded to me like on of those hilarious fanfics where an overdramatic protagonist tries to do everyday tasks and fails hilariously because they can't act like a normal person for five minutes. Like the driving school episode of DBZ.
