There are some parts of the fat acceptance movement I can get behind, like having exercise and yoga classes specifically for fat girls like me. But the whole "perfect at any size" crap makes me think of the pro-anorexia garbage at the other end of the spectrum. Both sides think the extreme is okay when it really isn't. EDIT: need some awkward for new page. How 'bout two female entrepreneurs having to create a third male cofounder to get around industry sexism? This? This right here? This is the sort of "I'm the exception" bullshit that keeps fat people fat, goddamn it. Your fat cells aren't malfunctioning and you're not "metabolically disprivileged," you just didn't stick with your diet/exercise combo for long enough for your body to realise what your brain was trying to get it to do. green chicken feet posted:Serious congrats on taking charge of your health and making those changes. Healthy weight loss is hard but must be even harder when you're surrounded by messages that you're somehow being untrue to yourself by losing weight. That's the killer. You're only being untrue to yourself if you're uncomfortable and not trying to fix it. Weight loss is actually really easy, it just takes significantly more time than you might think.

why doesn't he rewire his brain so he has the self control to lose weight? is it because he can only do it once and he doesn't want to waste it on not being fat?

Some prime AUG from the depths of 4chan: http://imgur.com/a/uZ5jm For some reason, I can't get the img code to work. I've tried multiple times, on multiple occasions, even tried quoting another image and then inserting the url of the image I want to post instead, but nothing works. Quoted images show up fine. Anyone know why this is happening?

This one brings me back to when I'd get dragged along with morbidly obese friends when they'd be hitting the antique/thrift stores looking for rockabilly style clothes and how livid they'd get that clothes from the 50s and early 60s just didn't exist in a modern XXXXX size and they'd be better off just finding sewing patterns and have stuff custom made. Christ, what the hell is it with rockabilly fashion being such a magnet for the morbidly obese?
