The list is endless. What does the average democrat do when: - Milo faces protest on campus versus a professor is fired for criticizing the NRA or republicans? - Antifa vs neonazis as discussed - Inviting tea partiers vs inviting the DSA to their political shindigs. - willingness to talk to Fox versus willingness to talk to Jacobin - Discussing race relations with Republicans versus with leftist PoC. - discussing foreign interventions with Bush people versus people like Greenwald. And it's not that those things are comparable or equivalent in any way. Firing a professor for political opinions expressed outside the classroom is definitely worse than students protesting Milo. Antifa have definitely hurt fewer people and have less power than neonazis. Tea partiers are clearly more partisan and less informed than DSA members. And Fox is clearly more dishonest and propaganda than jacobin. And yet in every single one of those examples, establishment democrats will, without fail, turn to the right and punch left. I mean, if McConnell ends up breaking with Trump, I have no doubt that democrats will start hailing him as a reasonable republican.
