I could be wrong since it has been awhile since I read the books. But either it was a gently caress you by the mad king to Tywin or it was Jaime wanting to be closer to Cersei when she was queen. The later might be from Tywin finding a way to get Jamie out of the kingsguard and Jamie refusing. Bottom line is I miss Charles Dance on the show.

If Tywin were still around, he'd have married Jon and Danerys, but them on the Iron Throne, adopted them as his surrogate children using the last name "Lannister", and rode Drogon himself to kill the NK before the wall fell. He then would have banged Olenna Tyrell, married her, and used her gold to settle all the crowns debts. She got off loving easy all things considered but after her book material ran out she just started winning through bad writing rather than anything clever.
