Warning everyone, please don't watch Disjointed. It's just Big Bang Theory, except stoners. I thought the opening gag was just a joke, but the laugh track didn't end :barf: I had to shut it off after 5 mins.

I like how they're treating the show as if it's this new edgy sitcom. When in reality no one gives a gently caress about weed. Let alone legal weed. It's just loving weed. Call me when there is a sitcom about people selling opiates to bored teens and their moms.

Are there any Karl Pilkington shows that Netflix does not have? I've seen Idiot Abroad and Moaning of Life a bunch and am wondering if there's other stuff I'm missing because it's not on netflix.

I used to put stuff like Psych, Murder She Wrote, and Columbo up on my second monitor while doing other things, but all three aren't on Netflix anymore (along with the first half of Poirot, which is also a bummer). What are some good mystery shows like those on Netflix or Amazon Prime?

The second episode was a bit better.

The third episode seems to have gained some traction, and they nailed the ending. I'll keep watching for a bit.

I'm not sure what's weirder; the premise, or that no one on the localization team thought that maybe "Father of Light" sounded less stupid.

Yeah, but that doesn't quite convey the gross incest vibe they were going for.

Father of Light probably sounded a little too... religious compared to "Dad of Light," which makes it more obvious that it's a show about the protagonist and his dad bonding over FF.

Chuck Lorre at least knows what his shows are and doesn't pretend otherwise. Jenji Kohan shows are the real terror.

We've Got To Go Back
I watched the first episode of Disjointed, and boy was that bad. I thought people were over exaggerating (like they did with Santa Clarita Diet, while not great, wasn't that bad), but no it is really network sitcom bad. I didn't laugh once, and the only interesting parts were the 'fake commercials', and even those were not that great. You know I can tolerate Big Band Theory as a background show while I do something else, but this was fingernails down the chalk board bad.

In better news I finally watched The Expanse (season 1 on Amazon Prime). I read the original trilogy back when it was released, but I had no interested in watching Syfy mess it up. That said it was good enough that we actually purchased season 2 after we finished season 1, and my wife loved it (the only other science fiction show she loved was the BSG reboot). Warning some of the acting can be so bad at times that it is distracting. The actress that plays Chrisjen Avasarala comes across like she is acting in a play. It is like she is over-emoting for a live audience. Also the guy playing Holden is not that great either. Still the other actors are mostly pretty good, and the story is great. I will be watching season 3.

But Kohan has actually made some good TV seasons (season 1 of Weeds, half of the seasons of OITNB, and GLOW so far), which is something Lorre has never done.

Speaking of The Expanse, Killjoys popped up on Netflix recently (I think, perhaps I just haven't noticed it before), and I've been enjoying it quite a bit. It's no high television by any means and quite schlocky at times, but it's reliably entertaining and hits that industrial sci-fi spot just right.
