Are you actually going to try to do a no-miss clear of Rockman Minus Infinity? Because, having seen your skills in other videos, there's no way you're doing that without savestates or, like, a year of practice. (And that's not meant to be an insult, the game is just ridiculously hard at times)

It's a Japanese thing; W is generally pronounced ダブル, which is conveniently also how one would write 'double'. So, W became a shorthand for 'double' and space-constrained translations by inexpert localization teams leave it in.

FYI W-Esper showed up in another seed for Ancient Cave. It only casts a single esper. There may be some hard coding somewhere that considers "you can't double use the magicite item, you can't double cast slots, you can't have two espers, so you aren't capable of doing that." Also, let's see where we can grind on the world map. Are the two most famous places to grind good? Find out HERE

If I remember right, there was like two levels that were ranked 11th according to the world map? One was the casino level, and the other one I don't even remember. The casino level definitely wasn't even close to as good as these two, despite being pretty alright overall. I really wonder what Koopster's problem with the 10th place level was. If it wasn't for him ranking it basically a little bit over thoroughly average, it'd probably have ranked even higher.

Remember when I posted that LP of Rockman CX? Well, what if I told you there was a romhack out there that did the same things it did, but actually good? "Made by talented ROM hacker: Puresabe, comes Rockman 4: Minus Infinity. A ROMhack that does what others only dream of achieving. It is a masterwork in terms of game design and ROM hacking. All of the weapons are powerful and fill different niches. There's at least one or two impressive new features on each level, and they're integrated into the game well. Many of the bosses change their pattern at critical health. They also have custom AI patterns designed to counter the Rush Cannon (a one-hit-kill weapon) that they switch to when you equip it. They become extremely difficult, but not impossible, to hit in this state.. The levels have branching pathways and hidden bosses from other Rockman games that have also been given massive boosts, plus new enemies from other games in the franchise, make an already fantastic game a platforming masterpiece. " But is that all true? Let's find out! Rockman 4 Minus Infinity #1: Ring Ring Ring (Heavy Sigh, jspades, and Great Joe) HOWEVER! There's more to this LP than just that! This game comes with its own Hard Mode, and there's a hell of a lot more going on with that than a simple damage boost! We're going through the whole game in Hard Mode, so get your weapons ready for some truly fiendish platforming! Rockman 4 Minus Infinity Hard Mode #1: Ring Land (Heavy Sigh, Shinryu, and Kalonzombie)

Stellar Garden was a great level. Provided good platforming challenges and really made good use of the auto-scroll aspect. Ice Cutting Site was fantastic, and if judging issues didn't creep into 1st through 8th place, I'm looking forward to what those levels will bring. It avoided the issues of offscreen challenges and obstacles in a really creative way. Those little puzzles rooms in that level also reminded me of those puzzles you'd see in the more recent Kirby games as well. Fitting, considering the music used. Dragonatrix posted:If I remember right, there was like two levels that were ranked 11th according to the world map? One was the casino level, and the other one I don't even remember. The casino level definitely wasn't even close to as good as these two, despite being pretty alright overall. That would be Nightswimming, from this video. That level was far better designed than Gambly Night, and was much more deserving of 11th place. There's definitely not nearly as much of a quality gap between it and 10th place compared to Gambly Night and 10th place. So I would say that there isn't much of a gap between the best world and the not quite so best levels since there were still a bunch of really good levels throughout the hack. Some of them just happened to be scattered between the mediocre and really bad levels due to the world organization.

So does Ice Cutting Site work on the principle that everything in the same vertical position loads simultaneously, and is thus synchronized, the same way it is in Mario Maker? Or is there more to it than that? Also, is it possible in vanilla SMW to make a level where the autoscroll speed changes within the same area? If so, there's a level that can't be done in Mario Maker that I'm dying to create. Rollersnake fucked around with this message at 01:53 on Aug 27, 2017 |

If so, there's a level that can't be done in Mario Maker that I'm dying to create. In vanilla, I think there's only two kinds of scrolling that change things up; Butter Bridge, which sends you on a crazy adventure with ups and downs and such, and what I think is scrolling from the Yoshi Wings area that steadily ramps up to hellacious ludicrous speed. If you don't want exactly either of those scrolling speeds, you'd probably need some kind of ASM hack to implement the scroll you want? I'm not really up to speed on what current romhacking tools provide for, though I'd expect variable scroll to be a solved problem...

Super Metroid chat: Hyper Metroid is what happens when you dial up Samus's movement abilities to the max. Her maximum speed without speedbooster is about as high as it is in vanilla with speedbooster, she can speedboost in morphball form, she can keep speed boost while turning around as long as she turns around in midair, and she can do the damage knockback animation whenever she wants to, which gives her an ersatz backflip ability. Oh, and Spazer and Plasma are compatible with each other, allowing for a ridiculously powerful five-beam combo. In normal gameplay, these don't affect things too much; most players don't have the skills to really take advantage of the new techniques. But speedruns are a different story. Here's a speedrun of the hack. The quality's a bit muddy, alas, but it's still pretty dang impressive. Alternatively, here's a TAS.
