I really wanted to like Syndicate, but every little activity even ones like a chase that takes like 30 seconds hits you with a summary screen telling you your reward and asking you to rate the activity.

follow cheap rear end gamer on twitter, although they cover way more than just deals for the psn which may bother you. it's how i always find out about pricing errors on stuff. like policenaut said though usually people post stuff in the ps store thread but cheap rear end gamer also tells you about amazon deals and stuff like that too

Weird question, but does having a huge number of friends slow down your PS4? Mine has been chugging for a while with internet problems on the PSN and I'm starting to think it has something to do with tracking 800 friends.

yeah cheap rear end gamer new deals posts them usually much sooner but the links all go to their forums, the actual cheap rear end gamer twitter is more curated and run by a few dudes but they don't get to everything immediately.

if you want to know when more snes minis go live you're gonna get that on cag new deals, for instance.

So how prevalent are spam PSN accounts? I've received a friend request and a "Hello" message from two accounts that have no games played and no trophies acquired in the past two days. I've had my ps4 since late 2014 and this is the first time it's happened.

Sweet Everybody's Golf pro-tip: if you're facing a really long dog-leg hole, just use the fairway of the hole next to you. It's totally legal and lets you get away with some wonky shortcuts.

Also, if you land the ball on a man-made structure you can drop it back on the course at no penalty, so getting a nice high bounce + roll off the road can be really useful.

Yeah, I get like two or three every couple weeks. The first time I responded because I didn't know any better and blocked them when they started getting pushy. If they are bots they are pretty convincing, at least the one I was chatting with. They did say that they found me via communities so if you are a member of multiple community groups, especially public ones, that could potentially be something to look at. nope definitely a bot now that I went back to review the convo. Not sure why they've gotten so prevalent on PSN lately, but I've also gotten friend requests I don't recognize on Xbox live (Xbox live has a much more twitter like system now where you can follow people one sided and they can choose to "friend" you back) and I bet they are the same thing. Probably just camgirl networks getting hip to targeting lonely gamer dorks.

I think the difference is that on Xbox it's anyone, on PSN it's like, only people that have been identified as industry people, devs, or gaming "personalities". Kind of like getting verified on Twitter.

The biggest beef I have with the game so far is that even though I've basically only played one course none of the holes stand out because of all the garbage like in out mirror tornado whatever. I haven't paid much attention to PGA golf in a long time but thanks to Links and PGA Tour I still can remember epic holes from Sawgrass, Harbour Town, Pebble Beach, etc.

I doubt this is intentional but the course you start out on also strongly reminds me of the golf course in GTA5.

I've been abusing this and honestly it's some pretty lovely OB rules, but if you can pull off a 1W approach usually through trees and come out ahead from just playing the hole though normally, more power to you.

i never got a single spam message on PSN until the app came out so I'm guessing all the chatbots are using that somehow. Then I turned off messages from non-friends which I didn't know you could even do until that started happening.

I reported one of them and actually got a message back saying they'd banned the account but I doubt that really has any effect. I'm more curious about how stupid people can possibly be that those things ever work, but then again, collection scams and Nigerian Prince scams work too

Another sweet pro-tip: buy a second controller before you hit the first challenger of Rank 4 for when you throw your first one at the wall. gently caress auto-impact and whichever designer decided it needed to be forced in any situation.

I was -2 to that challenger's +3 with three holes to go. First two shots on the 7th auto-impact into wild hooks which go into OB which is just along the edge anyway. The first shot that landed on the fairway was my 5th shot. I then proceeded to get hosed over for the rest of the round and went from -2 to +7 in those three holes. Auto-impact should doubly not be a thing on a course where any severe swing or hook will put you in the water/deep into a bunker/OB.

Also wow can the game not handle lots of people on an open course, and by lots I mean 40. First couple of days I was playing there were maybe 10 people at once and it was fun, with 46 it runs at basically half speed.

I'm pretty sure Black Flag did this a ton also, though maybe not after every mission or sidequest. I basically forced myself through all the lovely story missions just long enough to get the diving bell, then I spent the rest of the time doing pirate stuff. Even that got old quickly so the Assassin's Creed series is not for me. Origins looks like a cluttered mess even though the setting and time period are cool.

I kinda get why it exists as a thing though, because it means that when people run into That One Mission/Sidequest/Boss Fight Everyone Hates (in general theoretical terms) they can collectively downrate the poo poo out of it.

I wonder if it's random. The "you must use auto aim" rule happened for me on the 2nd VS match of level 2.

Also for the person wondering why perfect shots sometimes go left or right, I'm sure you are aware, but in case you are not: the slope of the ground you hit the ball off of will affect the starting angle.
