As of a little under 3 hours ago, Signs of Dick were confirmed in Stanfield, Oregon. You Americans have far flashier police cars than we do here.

Congratulations on getting on the bus, 14. That's a big, smelly, step. Thanks again, Jebus. I may start to believe in Jebus now.

Krakkles posted:So what's with the cops talking to the bus driver in pics on facebook? Dick emits a homing signal to police. He interacts with cops 100x more frequently than anyone I've met, so I'm not really surprised he's running into them just sitting on the bus.

Gravel will behave like marbles under cx tyres as well. Put your heaviest items at the bottom of panniers as the more weight you have higher up the less stable the bike will be. If possible carry something on the front of the bike to even the weight out a little, just make sure it is secure. If its dark on unknown roads with lots of weight you are going to be stuck going slow unless you have really good lights. Prioritise food and keeping warm above all else. If you are too cold or don't have food it's going to be really miserable.

That's one way to get a row to yourself. Bonus points if the driver gets caught in the crossfire.

I have that Anker power charger, it's quite nice, although to charge it back up takes 8 hours, unless it's the $100+ one. Still I was able to charge an iPad pro and watch movies with my friend so yeah.

How the gently caress does a bus lose stuff? It's not like there are hundreds of routes with thousands of passengers leaving the bus terminal each day like a busy airport.

Because Greyhound is a terrible, terrible company that seems to operate on giving as few fucks as possible. It's mind-boggling that they still exist in the eta of instant online reviews. The same thing happened to me and my ride back back from Nebraska I left Denver but my tools did not. The good news is as long as they have a luggage tag on them they will reach their in destination and might take an extra day or two though That feeling of not knowing where your stuff is or if you're going to get it is incredibly lovely though

I take the Van Galder bus run by Coach USA from Madison to Chicago and back whenever I fly out of O'Hare and it's actually really nice. I've never been on a Greyhound, I guess, so I don't know the intricacies of either their lovely company nor cross-country bus travel with multiple transfers or w/e I suppose.

There is absolutely, 100% a tag on it. I watched the woman print it, attach it, and tape over it to make sure it stayed on. Dave, are you still at the depot in Denver, or what's your 20?

Getting people from a to b is easy, they'll tend to move on their own, sometimes in the right direction, speak up when unhappy. luggage is much worse, it doesn't tend toward any particular direction, doesn't yell when going the wrong way, falls off carts, belts, luggage don't give a poo poo at least that's what my airport friend tells me. I'm kind of amazed greyhound manages to succeed at delivering at least part of their luggage given how infinitely more organized an airport is. A bus isn't the ritzy world of aeroplane transportation but all air carriers I lost poo poo with long term essentially paid for a few changes of clothes, toiletries etc. Probably not, but maybe greyhound do that too?
