Yeah, that's a ford territory, the lifted AWD wagon version of the ford falcon. They had lots of problems like that. (E: they fail and then knock about until they break)

Cojawfee posted:I don't know if it is a joke, but if it is, probably in relation to the fact that giant planes like a 747 have a glide slope similar to a brick falling off a roof. An airfoil doesn't matter so much as the engines brute force the plane into the air. That's not the case at all. A big airliner like a 747 has a glide ratio of something like 16 or 17 to 1. Which isn't surprising, because it's directly related to fuel efficiency and airlines are kind of concerned with that. About the only things in the sky that glide better than commercial airliners are sailplanes and the birds that have evolved for gliding over millions of years. You'd be correct if you were talking about fighter planes.

The completely missing compressor wheel seems to indicate that, or that the nut wasn't torqued and secured, since it appears to be missing as well.

gently caress I just ordered an eBay turbo to see what happens. I paid 45 bucks for a one year replacement warranty and I'm also going to get it balanced before I put it on and risk spraying shards of metal into my motor.

It turned out to be from a guy that has been banned from tdiclub and is on the avoid this vendor list, etc. I didn't realize who it was until I paid and his screen name showed on that page. The ebay listing was under another screen name. It was cheap enough to take the risk I guess and the way the intercooler piping is on my car I doubt shrapnel would make it into the intake. The nice thing is that it bolts right in place of my current turbo and I won't need a retune like I would if I had gone with a variable nozzle setup like I was going to originally.
