Dillinger in cologne was insane today. First time I've been forcefully pulled on stage haha. People got stuck in Billy's drums and poo poo as well. Pheeeeew. Security were not pleased with that stage invasion Eight Is Legend posted:Haha, solid - did you get a chance to catch them at Copenhell or at Pumpehuset? I went to the Brighton, London, Århus and Odense ones on that tour. Then got food poisoned just before the Copenhagen show and just couldn't go haha.

Thrashy hardcore with a lot of gang vocals is the best because I can both pretend I'm real mad about things and also pretend I actually have friends that I'm shouting along with. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXtub2ry0Zc

Anyway, it's good to hear I'm not alone on this one, here at least. But I still think we're in the minority among the overall core community, and I'm genuinely interested in hearing deadwing (who I've known for years and respect a great deal) provide some detail on what about this record really connected for him.

Stray from the Path are "hometown heroes" for me and I've seen the band go through a ton of changes. Rising Sun is an album I hosed heavy with back in the day and it turned me onto vocalists using "BLEGH" in hardcore music. Pretty sure I already wrote about it in this thread, but after Acacia Strain and SFTP went on tour years ago is when Vincent started using BLEGH's in his songs as well. I don't think that's a coincidence. Anyway, everything aside from Rising Sun pretty much sucks and I agree that the vocalist seems like he's straining his throat too much when he sings. Everything this band does lately feels like kids who just started community college and now believe they know everything about the world and how to fix all its problems. Their songs don't reach the sociopolitical depth that other Long Island Hardcore bands like Cipher do. I'm gonna go listen to Cipher, actually. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H-x6BAfIDvY&t=549s

MYOH and Rising Sun are genuinely great and earned them a lot of goodwill with me, and I've enjoyed all of their newer albums to varying extents. Only Death Is Real is great in a few places and dumb fun in most others. The track with Keith Buckley rules, of course. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VDu3qECc91Y

New Contortionist album is out. I'm one instrumental intro track and half of a regular song in, but judging from the songs that were already released, this is going to be a solid contender for 2017's best. No link bc just go find it using whatever method you prefer. Also, Infant Annihilator has been removed from Spotify and iTunes. Allegedly for being too offensive which is a crock of horse poo poo.
