Ah of course. As I recall though it was kind of a failure and was eventually cancelled (don't remember how long it lasted though), and was never seen again in any form once Garfield & Friends ended (to my knowledge that is).

That strip is the only canon appearance of Booker and Sheldon's mom. We never see her again after that one strip.

Only other thing to note is that, in the strip, Bo Sheep was dumb. Really, really dumb. And he didn't have the surfer accent the TV version had.

Ballard st. is one of few current comics that I find genuinely funny, and not just likeable (that unicorn comic is more sweet than funny but I like it as well).

I feel that Ballard st. should be a mandatory inclusion to this thread, as long as we have to suffer through Nancy, Funky Winkerbean and Luann.
