After a successful goon trip to Warhammer World, we can safely say that our results will have no bearing on the Badcast campaign - a win each for the Badboys and Fuckbois. One game had 3 animes burnt, so really we can say we all won. Not many photos but some highlights from my point of view..
  • a 5 man Stormtrooper squad deepstriking next to a Repulsor firing everything it had with some bullshit stratagem and still having 2 Melta guns left to strip 7 wounds from it
  • Rough Riders turning up, attempting to charge key units and falling even with a reroll. Then realising Rough Riders have 2 wounds now which helped against return fire, almost..
  • Hellhound murdering a Contemptor Dreadnought, overwatching with the Inferno Cannon
  • Vulture Gunship with twin Punishers are great but only if you have not tanks to shoot. The Officer of the Fleet is mandatory though, for only 2 Power Level!
  • Falling back with Guard squads then firing anyway with them pisses opponents off no end, gotta love bullshit orders
  • Forgetting that you're meant to have Assassin is very annoying when you've lost the game already. Also just realised my Lord Commissar should've hit on 3s with his Power Fist, meaning he might have actually done something in combat.
Can highly recommend Goonpocalypse as a warhamming experience.

I think this is wrong because the stratagem can only be used on infantry (as in you can only make an infantry unit shoot at the deepstriker).

Sounds like Goonpocalypse was fun, sorry to miss it.

I have the following symbol dice:

- KR
- Maelstrom
- Blood Angels (two colours, red and black)
- Imperial Fists (yellow)
- Warhammer Players' Society
- Some random Chaos thing idk
- Team Scotland ETC (I have never played for Team Scotland)
- Cardiff Carnage sheep dice

Plus a grab bag of dice of other colours. Great for when you need to fire multiple weapons at once, occasionally confusing when you're just rolling some bolters.

That poo poo is completely unreadable across a table. Absolutely ripe for cheating.

Those aren't meant for typical rolling, let alone to be read from across the table- they're to keep track of command points. Considering that most of the time people just keep track on paper there's no point.

When playing someone, if you want to keep track of their points you can do it however you wish- but the dice are fine for what they are.

I love using poker chips for command points. The ones that people give out as objective markers at events, etc.

Goonpocalyptic image dump ahoy. I will add some not fun comments on my computer imminently

First game was against Zark the Damned's daemon orks. I took entirely dreadnoughts. 8th edition is amazing.

The objective was to kill the courier, a nominated model on each side... here my dreadnoughts spread out in the swamp, braced for the daemons

Meanwhile, Artum's Ultramarine primarises took on Scowny's Praetorians in the Badcast mission. THere was much anime in the Tau research stations

Primarises, thausands of 'em

Some big motherfucking daemons - Zark's Bloodthirster

Tycho the lost carefully selects of all the possible targets... the cultists.

Death Company dread bravely stands up to the bloodthirster, and dies

"Shoot her, shoot her, then kick her to death." And they did.

Roughriders!

A bold deepstrike from the veterans to capture the turn indicator die. Bold strategy from Scowny, who lost this game.

A brave dreadnought protects the courier. Good job daemons cannot walk round things

Oh poo poo - the end of the game. Zark for the win.

Scowny's lieutenant bravely walking away from the battle.

You take my life but I'll take yours too, you fire your bolter but I'll run you through
Second game, Scowny and I playing the badcast mission.

After a lot of objectives that were not the anime... porn in the woods. It must be burnt.

Anime burnt. It turns out Praetorians really love hentai.

Game did not go well from then on, this is from the final moments. Sgt Lonesome there made a brave charge against the Vulture with its 40 shot gun.

RIP Sgt Lonesome (following overwatch), and RIP Blood Angels. Tabled. It could have been a draw but the Razorback took a melta shot which rolled high.

Other highlights of the day was a twin linked lascannon double six on overwatch against the bloodthirster followed by a double one to wound. Was a fun day. Christmas Goonpocalypse anyone?

Well, classic DG havocs (3.5 book, as usual :v:) couldn't take heavy weapons. They were limited to plasma guns, melta guns, and flamers. But yeah, Indomitable Advance is an insane rule and would've jacked their effectiveness way up. I wasn't expecting Death Guard to get a chapter tactic equivalent at all; I figured Disgustingly Resilient and all of their unique weapons and other rules would have been enough.

It also benefits assault and rapid fire guns too, and those benefits let them outrange Primaris with rapid fire bolters or run closer to flamer range before their enemies do. Its for footslogging in general, not just for heavy weapons.

No, I know that it does those things. It's great for the other classes of weapons.

It's just weird that it affects heavy weapons too when about the only thing that works for is hellbrutes.

I just wrapped up my second Konor game, which also happened to be the largest game of 8th I've played at 2500 points.

I had my Blood Angels, a Vindicare, and my Knight Paladin for the campaign. He brought several Chaos detachments- one Emperor's Children that had a ton of blastmasters, and a Chaos Renegades detachment that was full of beserkers. He also had a Chaos Knight with gattling cannon/thermal cannon.

It was a pretty fun game overall, but my opponent ended up conceding at the top of turn three as I'd very nearly tabled him. It lasted about two and a half hours overall.

My opponent deployed his beserkers really agressively, and between the deployment zone and his ability to advance and charge it was clear he was going for a first turn charge. I took two full Intercessor squads and used them as a screen to eat the charge of his 30 or so beserkers.

The Intercessors got mauled pretty badly but ended up surviving the charge. They then backed up out of the combat and allowed me to completely wipe the beserkers out between Repulsor shooting and stomp attacks by the Knight. After dealing with the immediate threat I just pounded the rest of his army to death with long and mid range fire.

The funniest moment in game by far was his Sorceror rolling perils and chewing his entire fire support section up pretty badly. I'd knocked a few wounds off with my Vindicare on my first turn, which proved to be just barely enough for his psyker to blow himself up on the first cast.

A close second involved his Demon Prince of Khorne murdering my Furioso and Librarian Dreadnoughts in close combat. The librarian then blew up and knocked the last wound off of the demon prince.

I'm definitely liking the Primaris stuff better as I play more with it. Intercessors are incredibly resilient and make for great front line troops. Repulsors have absolutely hilarious amounts of firepower and the fly keyword lets you play them very agressively.

Yeah, that and lower cost/higher movement is presumably why you'd take them despite not having DR. Though it wouldn't have been a problem for them to just remove them as an option for Death Guard and make Lords of Contagion their Lord option. I get what they're doing now with their datasheet strategy--like someone pointed out, now you have a sheet for "a dude with this stuff" and not "a dude with lots of options"--but I'm not sure how much I like that, even if I do like the added simplicity on most things.
