I hope Destiny 2 is (or at least becomes) better than the first one. I jumped into 1 when the Rise of Iron expansion dropped and it still felt absolutely devoid of any content, the gunplay was naff too. Apparently Shaders are one-time consumables now and that really blows because those were my fav part of 1.

Destiny 1 had a boat load of problems, especially at vanilla launch, but they were almost entirely on the RPG side of things. The FPS part was always pretty rock solid in most people's opinion, coming from Bungie's experience with Halo. If you though the gunplay was naff you probably won't enjoy D2 because I doubt they'll change the core combat model. The demo felt very similar. That said, some of how the gunplay feels involves the enemies, and the bosses in lots of D1 were just huge health pools which felt AWFUL to fight against. They seem to have learned their lesson so I'm hoping there's none of that in D2, which could improve the 'gunfeel' in a way. Hard to say. Yeah shaders are consumables and the destiny forums are on fire right now because of it. Its like Vietnam over there. They're doing damage control but its not going very well. (And IMO it was a dumb change)

I've wanted one for years and I'm making some extra money this semester from an extra class. It scratches my monkey brain with all the shooting and leveling up. I also like the lore (even in the relatively sparse original), writing, and absolutely gorgeous locales. Titan is cool as hell.

While Tyler, The Creator's 2012 tweet was funny, If walking away from the screen solved the problem, people Anita Sarkeesian wouldn't need to be escorted anywhere due to the dozens of stalkers and thousands of death threats. Or that guy who gave Majora's Mask an 8/10 would've just moved on to the next game. I get it, it's the internet. But just like anything else, you won't see it as a problem unless it actually happens to you.

That tweet was funny and I just posted it responding to what another goon posted, sorry if it was taken the wrong way. At that point the conversation was about games journalists being bad and elitism of video games though. Like I said, there were no death threats mentioned in the article. Endorph took it really personally and made it about death threats, and did point out that somebody mentioned he should kill himself which isn't a threat but is also unacceptable. That changes things and at that point I tried to make it clear that I'm completely against violence, threats, or telling anybody to commit suicide, but Endorph had already labeled me a nazi and wouldn't really listen to me. I think we should be able to criticize dumb youtube videos. I also think nobody should make death threats. Cool?
