Most of the trailers in the park I grew up in in South LA were like this as well. Galvanized 2" 'hurricane straps over the roof of the house and anchored into a poured concrete skid that the trailer was set on. Worked for everything but Katrina.

There's a pretty big counter-narcotics base in Key West. I've been wondering what this weekend has been like for the JIATF-S guys.

I wouldn't shed too many tears if the hangars over at Boca Chica got flattened though. It might provide an incentive to replace them with some halfway decent facilities.

Look like the storm made landfall in Naples, so Tampa might not get hosed too hard. It's dropping to a category 3 now and might only be a 1 but the time it gets to Hillsborough and Pinellas counties.

Pretty sure my mom's place in Dunedin is going to get turned into dust because it was built 80 years ago. Luckily she's staying with my mother in law across town with a concrete house and storm shutters.
