Plus even setting story aside those games always have great self aware goofs with Dogi and other side characters which will probably be lost in how lifeless they all are now.

Ys game plots generally aren't important but it is usually neat to play through an ys game and start to come to realize how it ties in to the other games aside from "stars adol" and "dogi breaks down a wall at some point" It gives it a bigger feel than it actually has, like you're slowly unraveling this world myth and adol's various adventures are all separate pieces of one larger puzzle.
