Yeah, plus the term "intellectual" nowadays has a growing connotation of wanting to divorce any non-"objective" statements from any sort of discussion. This ranges from a general disdain for the "soft" sciences, to alt-right trolls declaring ideological victory whenever they make someone angry. This sort of thinking leads to Garrison's portrayal of gays, trans people, liberals, and anyone working for any sort of social change as screaming, crying, thrashing idiots. They're emotional, therefore they have lost the argument, unlike me, an intellectual.
