So I'm paranoid as hell about this vote being tampered with, given the last time I lodged a postal vote it got lost. What's a safe way to make sure my vote doesn't get the potential 'torch, toss away all yesses' response while still remaining valid? Post-it?

I recently got a PO Box in Perth CBD and they gave me 6 months free mail forwarding so idk might be worth checking out if you're super paranoid. You can specify multiple recipients to forward if you have more than one member of your household and Aus Post activate it pretty much immediately (I was getting mail forwarded the next day). Edit: that's on receive, if you want to avoid poo poo on sending then literally walk your letter into a post office and get them to validate it and poo poo at the counter? Edit2: comedy option, the LNP/ACL has a literal cabinet noir and is intercepting yes votes. Hilarious if true but impossible given the actual wherewithal required to pull such a thing off. I've been pretty myopic recently with the postal survey and only just found out Australia is sending troops to the Philippines to train their soldiers on how to fight Isis. I'm certain this won't in any way lead to us training soldiers involved in the current drug pogrom.

I know for a fact that in the last year several western off-shore resource exploration companies have been contracted by the Burmese government to investigate potential natural gas and/or oil deposits off the west coast of Burma. Several of these companies have been ones with operating offices in Australia and the only one I can confirm for sure off record is Fugro.

The father of Turnbull government MP Stuart Robert says he was unaware he was a director of a private investment company that held shares in his son's IT service business which has won tens of millions of dollars worth of government contracts. Alan Robert, 80, has also told Fairfax Media that the private investment company, Robert International, was run by his son during the six-year period he and his wife, Dorothy, were the company's only directors. It is a revelation that would link the Queensland MP with the IT services business, GMT Group, at a time when Stuart Robert claims to have "ceased involvement" in GMT. The former minister has been under fire after Fairfax Media last week revealed he had direct financial links with a company awarded millions in federal government work. Section 44 of the constitution forbids MPs from directly or even indirectly profiting from the Commonwealth. Mr Robert resigned his directorships and offloaded his shares in his GMT Group in 2010 – three years after he was first elected to Parliament. The Queensland MP told Fairfax Media he structured his affairs in a way that did not breach the constitution, but has refused to provide any evidence to support this claim. It emerged this week that Mr Robert's parents were made directors of Roberts International - which held shares in GMT - on September 10, 2010 - less than a month after the election date. The couple's home became the registered office for Robert International almost a month later. Alan Robert said he was unaware he had been appointed director and company secretary until informed by Fairfax Media. "Oh are we?" Alan Robert said when told he and his wife were listed as directors of Robert International Pty Ltd between 2010 and 2016. "Blessed if I know, you'd have to talk to Stuart about that," he added. "No we haven't run it, no ... Robert International was run by our son so I'm not too sure how we figured into the directorship thing but there hasn't been any direct involvement in it, no." ... Fairfax Media put a series of detailed questions to Mr Robert about Roberts International and his parents' involvement. Mr Robert did not respond to the specific questions and accused Fairfax Media of lying about having spoken to his father. He also said he was ceasing all communications. Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull's office has been repeatedly approached for comment about Mr Robert's situation. Robert International was founded in 1999. Mr Robert and his wife were listed as directors until 2010, resuming again in 2016. Fairfax Media has been examining Mr Robert's business dealings after revealing GMT received $16.5 million worth of government contracts between 2007 and 2010, when Mr Robert was a director and shareholder in the multiple GMT companies. Mr Robert has claimed he arranged his personal finances to avoid breaching section 44 of the constitution which forbids MPs from benefiting from the Commonwealth. The member for Fadden, who was sacked from the frontbench last year, also told his local newspaper The Gold Coast Bulletin that he ceased involvement with GMT group in 2010.

It's probably not happening, but given the situation "probably" isn't really a good enough answer.

Universal Basics Card. The problem with UBI is that any effort to introduce it in the current political climate would be captured by the troglodytes running the country and we'd more than likely end up with something worse than we have now.
