Has anyone mentioned whether CryBaby has an original story or if it's a straight adaptation of the manga? There's definitely manga bits in that trailer but I dunno if it's gonna be a flashback or whatever.

It's a straight adaptation, the first one to adapt the entirety of it.

It's definitely a dated Go Nagai work, though I still appreciate it for the characters and related spinoffs. Also Seven Seas, you're killing me, spoiling me rotten.

There's not a lot of Go Nagai stuff licensed, is there? Maybe if this sells well Seven Seas will do more nice hardcover Go Nagai manga.

i appreciate cutie honey for re:cutie honey being one of the best ovas ever made and shin cutie honey having some cool bits, but i bounced off the original manga itself very, very hard so be aware if you're taking a look at it based on that stuff that it's, uh, not as good

CR and Sakugablog were nice enough to post the entire badass fight scene from last week's Boruto so that it's easy to share https://twitter.com/Crunchyroll/status/908091442458804224 also featured is a short cut from that week's super cool episode of 18if, which is definitely worth a look once it finishes and a list of which eps are worth watching emerges.

Uhhhhh........... Look, why won't hollywood adaptations of anime look at the success stories instead of the failures? Failures: DBZ:Evolution, Avatar, Death Note Successes: Inception, Edge of Tomorrow Stop making direct adaptations

I mean, I haven't seen any of them - or will I ever - but from previews and everything I've heard about them I wouldn't exactly call any of those failures direct adaptations either. Maaaaybe Death Note, but wasn't that a lovely Netflix made-for-tv one? edit: Really, whether direct adaptation or simply inspired the real lesson from those works is just that you need to put actual, competent effort and direction into a project. Of course, Hollywood being Hollywood they can't figure that out in regards to these properties. Lord Koth fucked around with this message at 04:23 on Sep 14, 2017 |
